1: rude staff I went to this dollar store the other day, i entered with 3 other people and my dog. the clerk proceeded to unprofessionally yell at me that my dog could not be there. did not offer any reason. i proceeded to get the 1 item i needed from the store and return to the register. as i walked to the rear of hte store she continued to yell from the register that th eanimal could not be there. again, not offering a valid reason - or one at all. I asked her at one point if she'd prefer i leave the animal outside in the car when with heat index the temp was well above 100 degrees and quite humid. she eventually rexited from behind hte register and met me in the back of hte store where i was grabbing hte mop i needed. she again said i couldn't have hte animal in the store. i asked why, she said because of DHEC. mind you the store does not have a dhec food safety sign anywhere on the walls/windows near the front so i don't believe they are subject to DHEC regulations. when i got home i even tried to look them up on th eDHEC food safety score app. I asked her if she treated people with seeing eye dogs this way and she said no, that is a different situation, however she did not verify that the animal i had in my hands, that never touched the floor of the family dollar was not a service animal or emotional support companion. the woman refused to check me out when i went back to the front of the store, i had to give my payment to someone else in my party which brings me to my other issue... 2: illegal sale of fireworks to a minor. per south carolina law the clerk must verify the age of hte purchaser of fireworks as the purchaser must be over the age of 14. After I purchased my items I noticed price discrepancies, the tag prices were not what the register rang up and when I brought it to her attention ( the manager on duty) she began tell me I was wrong that she had just changed the tags, I said I can take you over there and show you the tags. She kept arguing and said oh well that is the price (what the register rang up) I was over charged for my dog food and laundry detergent. I will not shop at this store ever again.
