Food Lion — Local services in Cayce

Update: Although this is not the best Food Lion location, it has upped it's game a bit. Looks cleaner and produce quality has been better. The addition of Food Lion To Go is also helpful in this area. Late night shopping can be a bit of a creepy crowd so I recommend hitting the store before dark. This store has become hit or miss with some items. Low stock on a lot of things and definitely low quality fruits and vegetables. Just a generally low rate food lion. Other Food Lions are much cleaner and well kept. For this reason I have taken away 2 stars.

This Food Lion is pretty big. Very clean and well organized. I was impressed by their large variety of everything. Their produce section is gorgeous but you really have to be careful. I found quite a bit of rotting vegtables. Their produce also does not last long at all compared to other stores. Always check to be sure you are picking the freshest they have. Their prices are pretty good. They also have a loyalty program you can sign up for on line. They will mail you the card. Using that you can load all of the coupons you want to use from their sales. It's really convenient. The parking lot is large so finding parking...

The store manager in the assistant manager in this location have no customer service skills whatsoever. During the snow storm advisory and the store was packed full of people the store manager said for the next in line however she said it she wasn't clear on how she said it me and my 7 year old got next in line I had one item and cash back. The store manager and the assistant manager were both gossiping without having to say much other than short words and I knew exactly who they were referring it to it was to me. My daughter overheard the assistant store manager gossiping about me to another customer those managers don't deserve the positions that they're in.PERIOD. DO BETTER FOOD LION. To add, I just went in for a second trip. The first trip I asked about customer service being open because I need a cash back she told me the customer service was completely closed today I went in there just now and they were open. The assistant manager lied to me The store manager heard her lie to me and said nothing to her about it.... .I'm a manager myself. I would never do that to a customer and if I did I would lose my position...

Update: Well, about a week ago I had bought a bottle of wine from this Gaston location, as I do quite often, but it wasn't double-bagged. After I got home, I got out of the car, gathered my groceries to head upstairs and the bottle of wine fell right out of the bottom of the bag! After going back downstairs and sweeping up the remnants of glass from the bottle breaking, I called Food Lion to speak with Customer Service. All I wanted was a replacement for the bottle that had just broken. I was told that they don't do that for wine as well as a few other beverages. I tried asking the speak with a manager to have the situation rectified appropriately, but to no avail! I'm changing my mind about shopping at Food Lion because of this unfair policy. Customer Service is a huge deal to me...in this case, they dropped the ball.

-This is our go-to grocer considering the fact that Walmart is a bit further! Usually has the things we need, great customer service, and they're open pretty late, which is a big thing for us! The prices are a little higher, but I'm so thankful...
