This place is like walking back into the 1980s very low selection of jewelry, however the lady in the wheel chair seemed nice enough.
So I had several watches I needed work done to. I took 6 watches in and had the batteries replaced, they did a fast job and picked em up the same day. So the next day I took 2 more watches and my chain in to have the latch repaired and polished back out.
They changed the batteries and resized a watch band for me. Again fast service and the job they did was good. Here is when it all goes bad.
So I'm 51yo when I turned 30yo my family and friends thru me a surprise 70s theme birthday bash. My kids at the time were small but they bought me a Fossil watch it's not real expensive like my others it's only around $100.
However that watch is very dear to me and has a ton of sentimental value to me. It was about 10 years old when the clasp broke, so I purchased the exact band from fossil and had it fixed.
2 weeks later the battery went out so it has been sitting in my watch case for the past 11 years. Well my son is getting married this weekend in California. So I was gonna wear this watch to my son's wedding kinda like a symbolic thing.
I took this watch in on Monday and told them I would like the battery changed , the crystal replaced ( had some scratches from the 10 years I wore it) also wanted them to polish the stainless steel band it had dulled from being in the case for the last 11 years.
I had explained all this to them and that the wife and I are flying out on Thursday morning early so I would need it at the latest Wendsday. The lady in the wheel chair said no problem we will get it done.
So on Tuesday I get a call saying my watch was ready. We were doing some last minute shopping before our trip and swung by while we were out. The guy younger guy with short brown hair. Pulls my watch out of the yellow envelope and the band just falls apart.
He proceeds to tell me the pins are bent and the pin holes in the links are wore out and that's why it won't stay togeather.
I politely tell him no that was a new band it was tight when I brought it in. I furthermore explained I have polished alot of parts over the years and this damage was caused by yalls motorized polish wheel. As I am telling him this he is yelling Alan or whatever I can't remember the name but he just kept saying Alan did this you have to come back tomorrow when he is here.
I tell him I'll be back tomorrow but I need the watch fixed by tomorrow which would be today Wendsday.
I stopped in this afternoon and the guy pulls my watch out of the envelope and starts telling me about how the band is stretch out and the pins are warped. I said yes you did this with your polish wheel. He continues to tell me I need to call fossil to get a new band.
I tell em um no yall broke it you get the band and I need it today. From the back this big older dude comes out about my age and he litterly raised his voice and bowed up and said he told you already he didn't do it !!!! Now I'm 6' 250lbs I ain't a small boy and I'm old school you come at a man like that you better be ready to throw down.
I yelled back yes he did when I brought it in it was fine!!! After seeing they were not going to fix my watch they broke I yelled F yall grab my watch and walked out. I don't like loosing my temper but they envoked me, a customer who spent well over $500 with them in a matter of days.
I collect watches and had alot more I was gonna take to them when we got back. But nope this place is a gamble and I wouldn't take anything to them you hold dear to your heart.
This place is unprofessional and bullies!! Dude needs to watch out, hes gonna come at a customer one day like that who don't have a flight to catch and wedding to attend and lots of bail money!!!!!
They ruined the whole thing, now I can't wear the watch my son bought me so many years ago to my sons wedding very upset about that.
Stay away...
Read moreFirst of all i want to say that the jewelry box is A JOKE!!!! I bought a new ring which was two sizes to big and i wanted to take it down two sizes i dropped my ring off(April 17th 2017) the same day i bought it and i forgot to ask the guy how much it would cost to do the sizing of my ring so i call them about 1 hour later to ask about the cost and the guy ask me for my name and my ticket number which i provided. Now the person i spoke to said that they could not find a envelope with that name and number so after talking to three people the last one finally said "ok" i got it and that it would be a $45.00 charge so i said thank you and hung up.So the very next day i called to see if my ring was ready for pick up because i was told that it would be ready the next day so i called and soon as i got on the phone the guy told me that im sorry to tell you but your ring was stolen and that he had been trying to reach me (WHICH WAS A LIE) and that the police had been called and that they saw the video. Now can you believe that they told me that i would have to wait to for the investigation was over before they would do anything and i told them when i get there have my ring or my money so i go they wrote me a check and i left but something did not sit well with me i felt they were lying. So i went to the police station myself to investigate and they told me NO REPORT WAS MADE OR NO CALL WAS MADE about a theft at the store. SO WHATEVER YOU DO PLEASE DO NOT GOTO THIS PLACE OF BUSINESS BECAUSE THEY WILL STEAL YOUR STUFF AND LIE AND SAY THEY LOST IT....

The quality of work from this vendor (THE JEWELRY BOX IN CEDAR HILL, TEXAS) was quite disappointing. I attempted to have some rings sized, and this business ruined the stone in one ring, caused loose diamonds in another, and damaged 2 others. The owner tried to criticize the D. Yurman products as "cheap," but I have worn this product for years without ever having a problem. The owner did not offer to pay for the products, only to return the fee charged to my credit card on only 2 of 8 rings.
Taxes were also charged to my credit card on the original purchase, but the owner tried to refund my cost without taxes originally charged. When questioned, the owner claimed that he could not find the sales receipt. I remembered the entire cost...taxes in cash. He ultimately gave me cash for taxes paid.
Prior to departing the store after such a horrible experience, I reminded the owner of my question to him (when i first left the rings for adjusting) regarding his ability to adjust the pieces without negatively affecting the stones. I asked if he could make the adjustments without causing harm to the stones and his response was, "If I do the work, there won't be a problem with the stones." Of course, the owner recanted the statement with a shameful attempt to criticize the quality of the...
