The 5th Realm — Local services in Cedar Rapids

So we have 945pm tickets for tonight Oct 11th. We show up at 830. I look at website and we can buy 845, 9, 915, and 930 tickets. Thought about just buying 845 tickets and eating the 945 tickets. The line was relatively short.

We just get in the line with our 945 tickets. The line hardly moves. We inquire. They are only letting up to 4 people in at a time or group by group up to 4 people every 5 minutes.

So if a group of 2 people is next, only 2 go in during that 5 minute slot.

But the lady also tells us she could do up to 12 people at a time but doesn't. 12 people every 5 minutes would be 144 people an hour. They are running max 48 people per hour but mostly less because there were lots of groups smaller than 4.

At 920 we decide to leave. With 8 groups ahead of us, we were looking at another 40 minutes at least.

I approach the young lady and Inquire again on the way out. I explained to her at 830 I could buy 845 tickets. At 859 I could still buy 845 tickets. With my 945 tickets, I might not get in until 1015. She told me the purchased slot times don't mean anything and the time are used for internal purposes. I said that makes no sense. Why not just sell General Admission tickets without time slots then? She also told me I could buy Fast Pass Tickets. I told her Fast Pass Tickets were not offered at all on any date. She goes...Ohhhh... they used to sell them.

The mall turned off the air while we were waiting in corridor. This is fraudulent at best. Poor management and business practice at least. Dear 5th Realm, I want my money back. Your website should state only 4 people every 5 minutes and you should sell only 12 time slots per hour. You can't sell more tickets than your throughput.

BEST. HAUNTED. HOUSE. EVER!!! 10/10. My sister and I have been to countless haunted houses over the years, and this was hands down the best, as well as a one of a kind experience!

It has a consistent storyline/theme and was 100% interactive/engaging, where each actor really is a character and you have some back and forth with each of them (the actors were impressive with their improv!)

This was awesome because it was far more engaging than any other haunted house, and it actually disarms you, making the scare all the better! Because one second we would be laughing, and out of nowhere the actor would do something to scare you, which was waaay more effective than your usual haunted house, because you don't see it coming. My sister actually screamed twice and ran twice! I have never seen her do either before at any haunted house! And we had just attended another haunted house right before this one, which had multiple reviews claiming it was "too scary".

This is truly a one of a kind haunted house! You can find a dime a dozen of haunted houses that do the typical jump out at you, scream in your face, and then you just shuffle along to the next room (which isn't fun, nor scary. because you expect it the whole time.)

This is far better because it's a build, where you get wrapped up in the story and each character, they disarm you and then scare you out of nowhere. You never see it coming.

To the owner: PLEASE, please, please keep the 100% interactiveness/engaging as well as having a story/theme with all your future haunted houses! This is the haunted house my sisters and I have been looking for all these years! By far the best and scariest! Thank you for this great experience!

Our second year of going here and it did not disappoint!

The actors were all amazing and stayed in character while being aware that we had our two daughters with us (9 and 7), who asked many questions and LOVED it despite being quite scared. (Also would like to shout out Pampoot(?), who noticed how much scared fun our daughters were having and went out of their way to be a guide for the girls).

Good environment, indoors, wait time is not bad and one of the best Haunted Houses to bring kids due to location; no worries of alcohol or drugs all over the place.

While I think prices may have slightly increased (25$ for normal pass / $30 for fast pass), it is still worth it. We went last night to the 9pm time slot and bought the Quick Pass - in hindsight there were not many people there, and we could have just done regular price.

It was about 15 minutes, but every minute was awesome!! If you’re unsure about haunted houses, the 5th realm is the place to start! We will definitely be returning next year.
