Nouveau Antique Jewelry — Local services in Cedarburg

I want so badly to support this small business, but my experience was really, really bothersome. I ordered two wedding bands for me and my partner. They let him pick out three because they needed stock and said he could pick it out when they arrived. They said they’d call in a week and a half when they arrived. Three weeks went by and we got no call, I left a voicemail, no one returned my call. Four weeks went by and the person I finally spoke with could not tell me anything about my order and asked if she could call me back. I got a call a few hours later letting me know I could pick them up the following Saturday, but only two rings could ordered for my fiancé. This was no big deal since it was a kind gesture. When I arrived I wasn’t greeted, I waited to be approached while they talked to an unmasked guest. When they realized I wasn’t leaving I was finally approached. It took some time to find my order and as soon as the rings were dumped out I knew a) they were not the men’s rings we picked out and b) they were way too small. They also ordered a size 8 for my ring, though I ordered an 8 1/2 because they found out it didn’t come in half sizes. Instead of making me aware, they still ordered it. Not sure if I will be able to wear it for my wedding day. They didn’t seem particularly phased or apologetic for their wanton disorganization. I felt their attitudes towards me were quite cavalier, perhaps because my rings were less than $200. They come across as highly disorganized, people who do not take their business seriously. Nouveau is an absolute GEM of a local business. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!

Two weeks ago my boyfriend and I decided to stop in and check out their assortment of antique/ vintage rings looking for THE ONE 💍 After browsing around, I decided to try on the sapphire & pearl ring of my dreams. It slipped on my finger and I knew it was the one!

Patty made us feel so at home- she told us the story behind the store, talked about their sweet store dogs, told us the history behind some of the pieces on display, and wrapped my new ring with love and care. The whole way home my now fiancé and I just glowed with the excitement we felt after not only finding my engagement ring but the absolutely incredible shopping experience Patty created for us simply by being authentic.

The story does not end here though! Not even a week after purchasing my beautiful new ring at Nouveau, I dropped it and completely shattered one of the pearls. I was devastated but called the store the next day and Patty assured me they can do repairs and told me to bring it on in. Upon returning to the store I handed over my broken ring and was absolutely shocked when they told me there would be no charge.

I got my ring back today and I am so happy and SO grateful to the staff at Nouveau! I will certainly be giving them my business again in the future and I hope anyone who takes the time to read this...

When you walk into Nouveau, you aren't simply shopping for some jewelry. You are entering into an experience. Not only is the selection of pieces from antique to modern in abundance, but every staff person is patient and knowledgeable. I have never felt pressured or hounded to make a purchase. They are ready to answer any and all questions and never make you feel like you are bothering them. They understand budget constraints and never try to upsell. My boyfriend and I have only been able to purchase a few small items, but they are all of the utmost quality. I've looked at a few items from the large name jewelry stores, but it all pales in comparison to what you can get at Nouveau. If I could give higher than 5 stars I would. Please, if you are ever considering a jewelry purchase, stop in and look around, talk to staff give them a chance to help with your vision. I guarantee you will not be...
