Belk — Local services in Centerville

Belk in Centerville is a Super Nice Store. My relationship with Belk started back when I was around 8yrs old. My mother took us to Belk when the first one opened up in our town, Cordele, GA. My mama has been an Belk addict since. Wherever we (she) go out of town if we go by a Belk or there is a Belk in the town we're going to we have to stop and shop. It's been our way of life since Belk came to exist, LOL. I do like shopping at Belk. I'm just not much of a clothes shopper due to having such a difficult finding things that fit my shape. I'm ecstatic when mama shops at Belk and finds me sharp looking clothes that fit and I wasn't even there. My aunt, mama's sister wrapped up on some really Cute outfits and other clothing articles when we were there recently. I was their attendee, helping them get different sizes of clothing articles to and from the dressing room. It's a lot easier that way for the person who is trying own clothes. It was 'WAAAY TOO HOT!' for me to be in the mood to try on clothes. That's my only complaint - they keep it too warm in the store to entice you to want to try on anything. My mama and Aunt were perspiring themselves. They stopped before they were through trying on clothing because they got so hot the clothes were sticking to them. Now who wants to try on that clothing article next that someone else just sweated in, Yucky. I don't believe it's Belk in Centerville's fault for the temperature control. My understanding it's the Cooperate Office. I think it would hurt their business when it's too warm for their customers to try on their clothing. Surely there is a Happy medium. Hello my name is Maurice Campbell hired by a third party to conduct a inventory check on some products the store in Warner Robins carries. Upon arrival I was ask to show my credentials to a person that represented that store location but failed to provide me with any of their credentials which by law I am entitled tl ask for. However since she failed to do so I will like the information for your legal department. As a third party merchndiser coming in that store to do a job I was assigned and for her to watch me after seeing my credentials I truly felt uncomfortable and should not have been treated that way. If she wasn't the manager once asked to speak to one she shoud have never engaged me in such a disrespectful manner. Futhermore I really feel discriminated as well due to the fact she continued to watch me. Yes I am black on some baggy jeans and a hoody due to the weather we are experiencing. So yes racially profiled for no apparent reason. That is not my first time in the store but it was my first and last time being disrespected to such a degree. I needed a suit and because I am in my 60's I went to JC Penny first. Times have changed because JCP was not so good. My daughter wanted to go to Belk... so after JC Penny.... we went to Belk. (I didn't listen...) I got everything I wanted at Belk...and because of the employee Linda at the register on the men's side I have to say my experience was fantastic. Linda was kind, nice, smiling, and an all-around pleasure to deal with. I even opened up a charge account because of her. Linda and her sidekick friend working there were the best. It is BECAUSE of her and her attitude that I have to write these kind words. I hope that she gets the recognition she deserves and I intend to follow up with a call to corporate about how wonderful she was. I can sure complain when things are bad but I also can sing some praise when the service is good. Of all the gas stations and of all the restaurants I have visited, and Google Reviewed... LINDA HAS BEEN THE BEST EMPLOYEE PERIOD.
