The Lpn program is great! The Rn program needs work but the real problem with the school is the lack of organization, under staffing, but mostly the problem is the administrative staff. I have attempted to contact the director of the nursing program since Nov 2014 leaving phone calls, emails, and visiting. I had been making weekly calls since Nov and at first the secretary would return my calls but those eventually stopped. Not only are my phone calls not being returned but my email are now not being answered. The dean of the school is shown to be just as bad as the nursing director amongst communication. The schools lack of organization is also evident within its arrangement of Clinical sites for their students. They would not tell students where they would be rotating until the day before or at the most a week before you are scheduled to start the Clinical. It is common to see to be announced on the assignment posting. Plus, I hope you enjoy working at nursing homes because that seems to be the only type of facility that fortis likes to provide to their students. Immunization records and other records would be lost by the nursing office. When you have administrative questions you will be bounced from one person to another because none knows the answer. However, to be fair some teachers there are great but overworked. I imagine the reason Fortis has a high turn over rate with their staff is because they are over worked having more students than they have time. The teachers are willing to help students and I couldn't think of one who ever denied me help. The finance department is pretty good too. For the price you pay at fortis you would expect the equiptment to be unbroken and up-to-date but that isn't the case. The only slightly up-to-date tecnology they have at Fortis is the simulation lab with two dummies being operated by the instructor outside the door. The cost to attend Fortis is WAY expensive much more than a community college but you do not have to take as many prep classes to enter Fortis. My advice if you want to do the lpn program you will be safe. Do the Lpn program and then attend another school to gain your Rn most of the time being an LPN makes it easier to enter the Rn program without being on a waiting list forever. The Rn program is new and does not have all the bugs worked out of the program so proceed with caution.

Read moreI enjoyed attending the MA program here, my admissions rep Randy was great, I made great friends, the program director (Stacey!) is wonderful, and the small class size was ideal for me. They even provided a path to employment with their partner, Premier Health, where I have been happily employed since. I do recommend actually doing all of your work and study in order to learn anything, as full completion of assignments is not enforced.
The administration, however, leaves much to be desired. The people always seemed kind but... In the 9 months the MA program lasts, I saw at least 3 if not 4 campus presidents. They're on their 3rd or 4th career services representative. I don't remember seeing the same faces more than a few weeks. It's hard to build trustworthy relationships with the people guiding you when those people are always changing. Nevermind keeping track of any paperwork or changes. On that note, they not only did not permit my class our honors as we walked 1 week early, but mixed up final grades and transcripts. Not the sweetest note to finish on.
All in all, nice people, pricey (it IS an expedited program school), but leadership is very unsteady and leaves...
