Wash Your Dog — Local services in Centerville

I recently visited this self-dog wash business, and I was extremely disappointed with the entire experience. The facility was incredibly unclean—there was grime all over the floors and the wash areas felt neglected. To make matters worse, there were no non-slip mats provided, which made the experience not only uncomfortable but also unsafe for my dog. My English Mastiff, being a large breed, struggled to stay stable in the wash tub, and I was worried he might hurt herself on the slippery surface. It was clear that the business owner had not put any thought into the safety or comfort of the animals they’re supposed to serve.

The owner’s behavior was completely unprofessional and left me appalled. As someone who prides themself on supporting local businesses, I expressed my concerns to the employee working. She acted like she couldn't be bothered which only hightened my frustration. I then asked for the owner's information to contact them directly. Before even expressing my concerns about the cleanliness and lack of proper safety measures, the owner immediately escalated the issue, even threatening to fight me, which is completely unacceptable. I’ve never encountered such hostility in any customer service setting, let alone one that is meant to care for animals. I really like the idea of the Wash Your Dog. It was so much easier to wash in a tub where I didn't have to bend over. All necessary items were available. They young lady behind the counter was really friendly and helpful. That being said, it was very, very dirty. I was really disappointed as the ad said that the area was cleaned by the staff after each use. Clearly it was not and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for many uses. There was literally dog hair EVERYWHERE. I believe she was deshedding a dog when we came in. I attributed the clumps of hair that were through out the entire shop to that. However, there was hair on the stairs to the tub, in the tub, on the walls. The bottle of face wash looked like it had been rolled in hair. It was on all the hoses and nozzles. Even if the hair was not on the stairs to the tub, the stairs were just dirty as was the landing to the tub. We probably should have left, but we did go ahead a wash our dog. If i could give no starts i would. Took my mini aussie here for a trim, payed $60. I messed up on my part by coming in and paying while he was in the dryer when they hadn’t yet groomed him yet because i had already waited two hours so i thought paying when make her notice i needed to go which i did. and i had checked on him TWICE in three hours and he was in the SAME place both times and this lady told me she would start on my dog after this other dog. so she asked if i just wanted to stay while she groomed him i accepted. 5 minutes later .... THE LADY TELLS ME MY DOG IS TOO HYPER AND SHE CAN’T GROOM HIM. honey, he’s not even 35 lbs. mind you, she had her assistant or whatever there two, so you’re telling me TWO BIG WOMEN CANNOT HOLD A 35 lb MINI AUSTRALIAN SHEPARD. she told me i could come back later AFTER GIVING MY DOG BENADRYL and i wouldn’t be charged for the second trip. mind you, i did not go back because ... what?
