The employees of Woodcraft of Dayton are amazing. My husband wanted to take up woodworking. He's shopped here off and on through the years and now is getting serious about this hobby. My parents wanted to give him items for Christmas. I went in the store in early November and talked to Tony. He was a huge help. Tony told me to bring in the wish list and he'd get it taken care of for us. I went back the following week with my parents and the wish list. Tony took the list and went around the store finding everything for us. My parents and I had no idea what we were looking for. I know if we would have been at a big box store we would have been lost, overwhelmed, and frustrated. Tony made the process almost as easy as giving a gift card. He ordered the items that weren't in the store. All of the employees were very kind and helpful. I'd give 10 stars if Google...
Read moreVery disappointed in the staff. A very loud gentleman with a beard rushed us out more than 10 minutes before closing, would answer my questions about the festool product I came to buy. He just said "it's expensive" and closed down the register before myself and another person could check out with over $500 worth of tools and wood, which we had to put back. The employee kept talking over us as well. He didn't listen to a single thing we said. Extremely disheartening. I will no longer shop here at all. Amazon has better prices, the Enon Harwood store or c.r. muterpaw are worlds better with lumber and prices as well. I'll buy festool from Amazon from now on. Worst experience I've ever had with...
Read moreOverall, this store is the quintessential woodworker’s store. Associates are old guys with lots of their own opinions, but all have good experience. They have a more limited inventory than I would hope for, but can order anything you could want. It is nice to have a local brick and mortar store to go buy those dominoes or whatever specific item you need in the middle of a project rather than waiting to have it shipped with an online purchase.
Cons: this store is rather overpriced and its sales are laughable. They are so proud of a 10% discount, when competitor’s have a base price that is lower than their “sale” price. The associates can sometimes be a bit judgmental, but overall, they...
