Edit: I would like to thank the bakery for their response. I would like to point out it was very slow when I arrived and a breakfast sandwich was still denied so I guess it depends on whoever is working that day if it can be done past 11. Next time I will order online if I decide I'd like to try it just to be safe. As for the pastry had I of been asked or had a sign been present that said "heated upon request" I would of happily done so since trying to eat a cold/hard morning bun is a very unpleasant experience. I never expected the case itself to be hot I thought the item would be heated after I ordered as is done at similar places but I will know for the future. As stated below I may try again as the food is good but for the time being I think I will try out other places to see if I can find the experience I am hoping for without having to figure out the secret system to get it.
I have been to this bakery several times and while the pastries are good a few things have caused me to not give a 5 star review. The first being the breakfast/lunch situation. While the past 2 visits I've gone in only for baked goods today I was really craving breakfast foods. I looked online and saw they had a breakfast crossiant and was excited to try it. The original plan was to order online and pick up in the store but at the last minute decided I would go in to see if they had any new items since I had the time. Upon arrival I was told I could not order a breakfast sandwich because it was past 11 AM. Nowhere on the website or online ordering does it say their breakfast ends at 11 AM. I understand some places end breakfast early but it should state that on the site. It also made me wonder if I had gone through with my online order would I have only found out upon arrival? I pivoted and ordered a lunch sandwich instead. I asked for the sandwich to go but asked for the pastry I ordered for her to eat while I was waiting. the pastry was given to me in a little plastic container and here in lies the second reason I cannot give a 5 star review: the pastry was received cold, which means it was hard and I couldn't eat it. I'm not sure If this is the normal procedure here Or if there is some sort of misunderstanding, but it does seem odd to serve a flaky pastry cold. Once I took it home and warmed it up on my own it was very delicious but experience just kind of left me with a sour feeling overall. It wasn't so bad that I'll never return but I won't seek this place out...
Read moreI have ordered from here on UberEATS twice and I loved it. So today I decided to come inside.
The atmosphere is so nice. The music is soothing, yet fun but not too loud. The tables are clothed, the floor is clean and the decor reminds me of a French cafe from the movies. It has outdoor seating as well. However the smell is to die for and the display is amazing.
Everything I had from here has never disappointed me. I have had the ham and cheese croissant three times and it is chef's kiss. These croissants put the flak in flaky. They aren't soggy inside and layers are stacked to the gods.
Kougin Amann is sweet, buttery and flaky it is my absolute favorite from here. I will be taking one to go.
Crumble Coffee Cake is so good too. The cake part is so moist and I can't stop eating the crumble topping.
Almond croissant is another favorite of mine.
I am huge fan of the Danish too.
The prices are great too.
I have yet to have anything more than the pastries, so look for an updated review for those.
That being said, I am an up and coming caterer and I hope to partner with them one day for all my pastry needs. I know these croissants would make a killer French toast.
The service is great too. The owner ( I think) is personable and friendly. I hope this business becomes a...
Read moreThis is my family’s first time visiting Boosalis after not eating there for a while. We got our food to absolute disappointment. We got two BLTs as the club is no longer on the menu. We added turkey, havarti cheese, and extra mayo to both sandwiches we also ordered a cranberry turkey sandwich. Our bread on the BLTs were dry to the point that it crumbled, on top of that the bread was so thick that we had to cut it, literally thicker than Texas toast. To make things worse they didn’t give us extra mayo and only put shaves of turkey on both sandwiches. When I say we had scraps I mean scraps. I called in to make a complaint only to find out that Matt Boosalis is now in Cincinnati and there is a new owner which explains food and service. The place was empty which was odd being that that was never the case when Matt ran the place it was lively everyday and the food was always fresh we would order two sandwiches for each person and plenty of desserts a lot just because of the freshness and the love that was put into each item made by Matt and his staff. I had to take the bacon and the pieces of turkey off the bread and pair it with a McDonalds hash brown. Bill’s now Boosalis total...
