Myself and my coworkers went to eat there last week and the african american waitress was EXTREMELY rude. We thought she was kidding and just brushed it off.
We frequently use our phones for emails regarding work, she told one of my collegues to get off of her phone at the table. Who in the hell does she think she is telling ANYONE what to do? This was our first visit, we decided to go back the next week(which as you will see was a mistake) and once again we had to interact with her.
Went back today and no she was not kidding and was insulting to us before we were even seated. My coworker asked if we could have the big table as we had several in our group, before he could finish she cut him off and said SHE was still talking, really?
I just pivoted and refused to eat there as no one will treat one of my colleagues with such disdain for no reason or for any reason for that matter. We walked to double days, what a totally different experience. There is a reason double days were busy and Old Bag of nails was not. Maybe you should rename it the Old Bag in her honor?
Why in the world do you allow someone so miserable and toxic to interact with customers? The other servers treated us with respect as to be expected and did their job.
Fire her or put her in the kitchen where she has no interaction with other human beings. She clearly has no business working with the public. It is a shame management seems to refuse to address this as I understand she has worked there for quite awhile. EVERYONE should be held to the same standards regardless of their color, race or creed.
She should not be allowed to act this way because she either is a miserable person or feels intitled to do so.I assure you I am not the only one to complain about her total lack of respect for other people especially patrons.
I have never heard of a business having a in house sales prevention department but clearly she is the department head of it....

Soggy fish ... we ordered Eddy style. None of the fish was treated to a batter with the spicy sauce. Instead, they brought plastic condiment containers expecting us to apply the sauce? Did not want to make a stir since we had clients.
Called later, asked for the manager. Twice disconnected. Third time calling back I explained I was attempting to reach a manager and that I had gotten disconnected. He who answered the phone, who we will refer to as Kram, went on about how their bar phone does not transfer well, then, he ended his thought with a long silence. After waiting ... with him knowing I was asking for a manager ... I then asked for the general manager after the long silence grew stagnate. He says, I'm the general manager. Why then, did you not introduce yourself after I explained initially I was trying to reach the manager.
He blamed the results of the soggy fish and the lack of spicy sauce not being added, because ... get ready ... the person in the kitchen making the food is new and does not speak English. He continued to bumbled his words and cobbling together an explanation about how he is going to talk with them. ALL of our fish was cooked incorrectly, soggy and no sauce. We will not be returning to this place to spend any money on their soggy cod fillets, dysfunctional kitchen, and inept management.
Second Review 2021 (did not return until date above) Picked up a take out of the same three weeks ago, October 27 2021. Was the complete opposite of the aforementioned first review. A bit inconsistent regarding quality.
First Review 2021 Fantastic fish and chips. The texture, flavor, and portion make the fish some of the best around. The chips are thick and wide ... perfectly made. The slaw is a good side. Remember to ask for napkins if take out. Enjoy!!
The first review was in 2021 and was 5 star across the board. Things have changed ... and not...
Read moreWe tried this restaurant for the first time recently. Upon walking up to the front door, we thought maybe they had shut down. But the sign was just a handwritten scribble to check in with hostess and not seat yourself. ok...fine enough. The doors just inside the vestibule had the same note...ok wow, they are really serious about checking in. LOL It was very clear not to seat ourselves. We waited several minutes at the hostess counter before an employee finally acknowledged us. A young woman finally came up to the hostess area. She looked annoyed that we were there...she walked up and just looked at us. So we spoke first....Told her just the two of us and we'd like to sit at the bar. Again, barely a glimmer of life from this person. It was the strangest thing. Seated ourselves. The bartender had a bit more life to her. She took our orders and got us drinks. She seemed to sit at the bar quite a bit which I thought was a no no at most places. Other employees stopped by to talk with her once in a while. We noticed that every customer that came in had to stand and wait for some time before someone came to seat them. Our food came out quickly and was really good. The food was the best part of our visit. That is not our issue. For us, atmosphere is half of the dining experience. It was depressing and we felt very unwelcome. It was not fun. The management seemed non-existent. The employees play "their" music to suit them, so it seems. Most of the clientele were 50+ and the music was more for 20s-30s. To me, that shows lack of management. The food was great and I would like to give them another chance, but my husband said no way he...
