I waited a few days to write this review, because I want to be fair and write a review of facts. I will start by saying that the lighting in this salon is horrendous and the interior is pretty outdated....but that is not the point of this review... I am a natural blonde who now has aging hair i.e. gray/white. I had tried another salon in town prior to this visit with Rylie. I have been to Rylie several times over the years for cuts and one time for highlight, that was several years back. I was always very happy with her result. She is very good with cut! On this visit I told her that I had another stylist try a shadow root (twice) to cover the gray/white and add a little more depth, which is what I wanted. My natural color most of my life was a dirty blonde, although my hair was lighter, I did have warmer tones as well. I scheduled this appt for a partial highlight because I knew a shadow root or root touch up would only go orange, and I explained this to Rylie. I thought a partial highlight would start to blend in the gray/white regrowth and brighten up the blonde. I asked her suggestion. She suggested a root touch up (If I am calling that the right thing! she did not call it a shadow root). Perhaps it was miscommunication, but what I ended up getting was the regrowth being completely colored. Which I had explained was my original fear..and then I guess she also did a partial highlight. Once I got back into the chair after processing it was obvious that the exact same thing had happened, as had happened the 2 times prior, Rylie's response was, that was why she wanted to go darker. Darker would only have made it worse. So thank God we didn't do that. She knew I was concerned and said she could correct it (I am not sure what she did), unfortunately, the "correction" neutralized the orange a little bit (not enough) and made, what was the perfect blonde highlights, now yellow tones. I really like Rylie, and I did not want to get too upset over it, but I did express my concern to the manager (Sydney) after I went to pay, that is when the upset hit. I did not want to pay for this "root touch up", which they were not willing to remove from the bill, I think they took $10 off? And offered for me to come back in on Saturday with a different stylist to do who knows what and only put more chemicals on my hair. Sydney went and spoke to Rylie who claimed that she did what I asked for, which is not true (and there is clearly miscommunication). I know a partial highlight was the only way for me to leave happy. I had no idea the "root touch up" she was doing was all over color, I think had she explained that better, we would not have ended up here. I should not have been charged for the 'root touch up' and quite frankly, now the highlight is bad because it went from beautiful blonde to yellow because of the "correction" she did. I do not think they handled this well at all. Anyhow, I am not happy with it and now I am afraid to touch it because I do not want to destroy my already changing hair with more product. The moral of the story is, listen carefully to what the client is saying. I like Rylie, I like Wella products. I think had she explained to me exactly what she wanted to do, I could have had the opportunity to say...
Read moreI recieved a girls day for Christmas from my husband. We planned it way in advance. I went with one other girl. We both received the 30 minute deep tissue massage, express stress relief facial, and the spa pedicure. I will say that since I went with another person, their scheduling is difficult. I waited around for a long time in between services. 15 minutes in between massage and facial and 30 minutes in between facial and pedicure. And I wasn't really instructed where to go.
The facility is huge. There are a lot of doors and a couple waiting areas. I wasn't told where to wait. It is extremely clean and updated. Nice calm music playing throughout. Coffee and water in one of the waiting areas. The use of complimentary robes and flip flops in the dressing area. I did see a little eating area that I assume is used for the girls lunch they offer on website. Looked really cute. The entrance has a large assortment of products and hostesses. The hostess gave us a welcome gift and greeted us immediately. I popped out there when I was waiting too long to ask where and what I was supposed to be doing. Everyone was extremely polite and professional.
The services.
The deep tissue massage with (maybe Delaney). I can't remember the names now. It was heavenly. She stretched things, hit all the knots, pressure was great, and the oil used smelled great. Absolutely no complaints.
The facial was quick but great. I do not remember the technicians name. I think this definitely had the most bang for the buck if you're looking for a cheaper pamper session. I left glowing and the peel really exfoliated my skin. Wish she had given some advice on aftercare, as I did have some flaking a couple days later.
The spa pedicure was underwhelming and almost more than the massage. I dont remember her name either. There wasn't really any massage of the feet. The colors offered are kinda limited. The water and towels were barely warm. I like it hot and expressed that. She didn't scrape under the nails and missed a couple cuticles. We were the last clients of the day for her so maybe she was just tired or in a hurry.
Overall I felt extremely pampered. It was just not what I was expecting. I would definitely go again but just for massages and facials. I also think that I would go alone so the waiting time in between isn't as long either. They do offer a girls lunch, so I think we would do that route if we were to do it with multiple people so we have a room with snacks to go back to.
Unfortunately and fortunately, they ask that cell phones are put away so I didnt get...
Read moreI went in on Friday, 11/4, with the goal of being blond. I had brown hair with a reddish tent, and completely understood that it would take a lot. I also know it's been done before to my hair. I was expecting to pay somewhere around 100$ or 150$. The hairstylist, Courtney, was super nice and said she's been doing hair for 4 years so I felt moderate confidence that she could do it. She explained that it would be lighter today, but may not be as blonde as I want. She also had me sign a waver. Looking back I should have walked away right then, but she said it was a formality for everyone getting their hair colored. I signed it and she went to work. During the four and a half hours I was in her chair she kept saying things like, "oh it really needs this treatment for the best results." Or, "this conditioner will really help." She didn't ask, she just said it was needed. After she had bleached my hair, she was concerned that she had messed up and called a more experienced woman over. They decided together what to do, and NO they did not consult me. When all was said and done my hair was NOT blonde. The rope was the exact same shade of brown it was when I came in, and the bottom was a lighter brown. Now you may be thinking it was a ombré style, no that would have been okish. It was like a line had divided the two sections, there was no blending whatsoever. I was upset, but not as upset as I was when I went to check out. The 'you need this' and the 'you need that' too my bill from what I expected to 248$!!!!! I left at 930pm and cried for four straight hours. My hair was so bad I couldn't even wear it out in public! I called and spoke with a manager in the morning, who apologized and said he knew I was upset when I left last night. He offered to let me come in and meet with the top color specialist a few days later to fix it, which made me feel better. That is until he called back 30 minutes later and said that since I signed the required waiver, they were not obligated to fix my hair or refund my money. Needless to say I will NEVER go back to this salon, and DO NOT recommend it to anyone unless you are getting a...
