LIFE CHANGING. Disclaimer- I am proud to be a coach at CrossFit Sentry. But 6 years ago, I started as a typical new member. I was so intimidated just to step through those doors for my first free intro class. A young mom of 2, I felt like I wasn’t fit enough, strong enough, competitive enough to ever fit in here, and clearly remember sitting in my car looking at the entrance sign “Check Your Ego At The Door” thinking… it’s not too late to turn around and go home. I was SO WRONG- CrossFit Sentry is for EVERYBODY and I couldn’t be more thankful that I got the guts to walk in. I never imagined I could achieve the health, fitness, happiness, and confidence I have built here, all while genuinely having FUN. I used to make myself workout a couple days a week in a regular gym, but coming to CrossFit Sentry has become something I look forward to each day for the past 6 years, and the positive impact this place and this community have had in my life is immeasurable. It’s not just fitness. It's a home away from home, a second family. No matter who you are or where in your journey, you will fit in here and be welcomed by name when you walk in the door. Read moreI am all about getting it done! No need to lean on a machine and shoot the breeze here. The coaches are encouraging and knowledgeable and genuinely want you to succeed. On the initial visit Kerry and I formulated a plan. I wanted more Flexibility, more Endurance, better Nutrition and Healthy Eating Habits and some of that old Physical Strength back. With all of that comes the shedding of pounds. My first workout with Travis (just completed my first month) was tiring but encouraging. By my third workout I realized that on my off days I wished I was at Sentry working out. I am gaining more Flexibility, Endurance and Strength every day. During every workout Travis inquires, what did you eat this morning? My answers have changed from “nothing” to “a cup of oatmeal or special K with low-fat milk, a peach and a hardboiled egg”. Lunch used to be whatever was quick (who has time for lunch right). Now it is a chicken salad and a vegetable for good carbs. All I needed was that push and knowledge. Take the time to do this! Read morea good friend suggested i try CrossFit as I was struggling to lose weight after getting out of the Marine Corps in 2020. I strived in our group fast paced workouts while I was active duty but i was not finding that in the gym alone. I joined CrossFit Sentry a month ago after having had two surgeries and being cleared to workout again. I also have to mention that I am now basically back to square one in my fitness journey. When i walked into CrossFit Sentry I was immediately welcomed! Travis does an excellent job in finding a workout plan that works best for you in his personal training sessions and will challenge you all while listening and looking out for you. I have also joined a couple group classes and the coaches do an amazing job in modifying your workouts in order for you to get the most out of it!
