The Barrel House — Local services in Chambersburg

We were able to create a beautiful wedding there this weekend. The bar staff was truly wonderful and helpful throughout the day. BUT, we did sign a contract with an old event planner and when she was no longer working there we were treated horribly. The new event planner and owners gave us a hard time about honoring our original contract. We originally agreed to a bar package that was per person. When I went to tell the new event planner how many people were over 21 she stated that we will count everyone as the bar package can cover sodas. I then got an email to put a card on file or pay $15/pp for soda. When I pointed out what we had already discussed she sent me a text meant for another staff member complaining about me. We stayed in the Airbnb upstairs the night before and were supposed to the night after the wedding. Me and my bridesmaids only got a few hours to use the WiFi at the Airbnb and then we had to ask someone for a new password. You are not able to change the thermostat without someone doing it for you as well and it was very warm for me and my husband. We ended up not staying that night. The space is beautiful but I do not recommend them for a wedding unless you want to pay for every little thing. They try to get every cent out of you...

We stayed at the Barrel House with a small group of co-workers for a business trip to Chambersburg. This house exceeded our expectations, it was very spacious, clean, and had all the thoughtful amenities you would want. The floor plans are very well laid out, with enough space to have some privacy if needed or many gathering areas to hang out together.

We were able to spend a lot of time on the patio which was very big, with plenty of chairs to sit around the table and relax outside under the pergola which was lit up with strung up lights.

The kitchen is perfect for gathering the group up to hang out around the island or sit and have a meal together at the large table. Commercial appliances and kitchen fully stocked with just about everything you would need was great.

Josh, the host was very communicative before and during our stay. He replied back promptly whenever we had any questions. We were very impressed by the Barrel House and will plan to stay here again in the near future. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in or near...

My Husband and I got married at the Barrel House a couple of weeks ago and we loved every second of our stay there. We were planning a wedding from over 600 miles away and the selling point for us was that our wedding party from out of town could stay at the venue while they were in the area. We wanted a unique spot that was laid back but also elegant. Josh was great at communicating with us and very helpful with rentals and suggestions as to how to set everything up once we told him the feel we were going for. He was accommodating with our travel schedules and allowed for flexibility in our stay. We couldn’t have gotten through the day without LeeAnn. She is an amazing coordinator. Anything we needed her to do she was willing and able to make happen. I did not have to worry about a thing when it came to vendors setting up, keeping the wedding party gathered up per ceremony, or making sure the guest knew what to do and the ceremony and reception kept a good pace.
