Update: It seems like the service at Lee Lee has detoriated as the years have gone by with dishonest employees who don't know their job. Last month, I called to see if they had red habanero peppers because I live and didn't want to drive there only to find out they didn't have any. I was told they had some in stock, only for me to drive there and found out this was false because they didn't have any. I let it go.
Today again, I was looking for the yellow ripped plantains and called again to see if they had any so I didn't have to drive all the way there only to find out they didn't have any. I first called Mekong Supermarket (honest people)in Mesa which is actually close to me and I was told that the plantains were green and not yet yellow as they were supposed to be. I thanked them and proceeded to call Lee Lee's and they told me they had yellow plantains, no mention that it was still green and not yet ripe. Only for me to get there and the plantians were still green and unripped! I proceeded to customer service to locate the manager only for him to try to gaslight and justify why his staff lied that they had yellow plantians when it was infact green. I wouldn't trust these people with my time, money and business again. Stay clean of this place. Shop at Mekong or H-Mart if you can.
I am a huge seafood lover and I shop here at least twice a week. Its clean, organized and a little on the pricier side compared to Mekong Supermarket in Mesa. I shop here because of convenience but will rather shop at Mekong if I was in the Mesa area.
Also, their variety of international food is pretty scarse compared to Mekong Supermarket! They are always out of things I will definitely find if I was to go to Mekong which is like a...
Read moreThis review is strictly for the bakery inside the supermarket. This is one the last few strongholds left for authentic (or at least close to authentic) chinese baked goods. Things like BBQ pork buns, curry chicken pastries, taro cream buns, baos, etc. There was a bakery inside the grocery store that used to exist at the Chinese cultural center near downtown Phoenix that has now been demolished and long gone. They freshly baked goods are fresh, flavorful, and decent value for the pricing. If you are able to eat them fresh, you can just feel/taste the crusty flaky goodness on their curry puffs. Sure, there is the bakery now inside Ranch market but I do not find them to be as tasty as the small little bakery here. 85degree bakery is more of a S. Korean French bakery so they do not offer the traditional Chinese items. And the bakery inside Mekong Plaza has now changed ownership and style, more closely resembling the trendier S. Korean bakeries such as 85degree. Or else they were also one of the few left to select from. Anywho, please continue to support this small bakery so that we can...
Read moreThe owner of this supermarket is a very nice gentleman. The reason I give this review one star is because I had such horrible experiences with the seafood department. They don't serve you as first come first serve. They serve people they know first. After that if they feel like it, they would continue to ask other people. Otherwise, other people and myself still waiting. Other times, they walked away and acted like we don't exist. I typically had to wait anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 minutes and occasionally no service. This is the reason why I would never go back to this location. I love their variety of different types of fish, but I definitely will not go back and deal with the long wait and rudeness at the seafood department. Those Asian men back there typical older and they are extremely rude and I don't think they really work. Although, they walk around and acted busy. I really don't understand how can they're busy, but they don't help the customers. Unless, you are Vietnamese or if they know you. I have never experienced this kind of unprofessional...
