Just arrived back from a five-night trip last night, and after getting my massage today, I couldn't wait to return for a second visit to Snowtime! I enjoyed my small serving of Black Sesame (#S2) snow the first time, I thought I'd already posted my four-star review, and I was just going to upload more photos from today, but I see I haven't composed a review, so let me remedy this right now-- thank goodness Snowtime provides free, and strong, Wi-Fi!
The black sesame snow consisted of vanilla soft serve with a downpour of black sesame (I'm not complaining!), injeolmi dust (which I just looked up is made with glutinous rice- a no-no for me!), homemade red bean, and almond flakes. Menu description includes mochi, but I asked for that to be omitted, since I'm allergic to rice. The combo was still amazing! I normally have terrific control when eating entrees and sweets- I eat half, or less, and take leftovers home. If the subject is frozen dessert, I like to share, or just throw the rest away. Hey, it's either the trash bin, or my hips... If I don't watch my figure, no one else will. ;) Well, I ate the whole thing, and the size small here is a good portion- enough for two size Aileens. ;) I left Snowtime knowing what I wanted to try on my return visit.
Thirteen days later, I'm back again and this time, I'm trying the fish cone, since I've been craving red bean taiyaki for months. According to the menu, I get my choice from four soft-serve flavors (well, six, if you count the swirls of chocolate and vanilla and matcha and taro), a choice from red bean, nutella, and custard filling, and two choices of toppings, so it's the matcha/taro swirl, the red bean, and a dusting of black sesame and coconut flakes, please! All of these selections are stuffed into a golden and crispy puff of a fish cone. Enjoy the delightful pics and then get yourself one, or three now!
P.S. I ate all of the fish, the red bean filling, and most of the soft serve swirl... Looking forward to...
Read moreWith locations in Chandler, Mesa and Ahwatukee, Snowtime is a dessert cafe that serves magical memories in a bowl, a plate, and a fish (more on that later). I recently came here and had Bingso (Korean shaved ice) for the first time, and it was magnificent. Essentially, just a bowl of shaved ice (shaved to the consistency of soft snow) with toppings, every spoon, every bite reminded me of my childhood playing in the snow and eating snow for the first time. Really, who doesn't like snow? Just say the word and a smile comes to your face. When I think of snow, I personally think of winter wonderlands, snowball fights, and sliding down hillsides. Shouldn't food be that fun?
With fun names that will tickle your brain and wet your appetite like Golden Dust, Tira-Miss-You, and Espres-Snow, my personal favorite Bingso dishes are Matcha-Love and Sweet Sunset. Their toppings here are fresh, and their ingredients are high end.
At Snowtime they call their Bingsu "Snow". Either way, you can say Snow, Bingso, or shaved ice they will know what you mean. Snowtime also serves drinks too like Espressos, Fresh Leaf Teas, Specialty Drinks, and Milk Teas. In addition, they offer Soft Serve which you can get in a cup or a cool looking crunchy fish cone.
Finally, remember to add the word Bingso to your everyday foodie vernacular. It will be a life long obsession during hot summer days when water is just too boring and ice cream and froyo too mundane (just joking, I love ice cream and froyo too). Check out Snowtime at their...
Read moreI love coming to showtime. First i came for the shaved ice/bingsoo and it was so delicious I've been to maybe other place places in chandler/tempe with it but i like it here the most. It's also so aesthetically pleasing. They also have the fish cones which are very yummy I've only come across it here at snow time and its so good. The parking right in front of it is usually full but to the side there usually a lot of space. They also have like one (or maybe two?) Table(s) outside. Also they are dog friendly because i have brought my dog inside before and they were cool with it. Last tome i went there was a couple sitting outside with their dogs i dont know if they dont allow inside or anymore or if that was jut their decision. Either way its nice. There's a lot of places to sit i like to come here with friends but ofcourse you can come alone. They also have like a party room(? If that's what you could call it) so for larger group i think maybe it seats like 8 people and you might be able to add couple more chairs as well. I love this place. They have optio. To customize your snow or choose their combos personally I love their combos they are all good. ( i post a picture with the doggos hope whoever own them dont mind haha...
