I had an unfortunate experience at this Michael's location tonight. The female manager working on Sunday, 25 Nov, between 7-8pm at the Chandler location (285 N. Federal St.) does not understand customer service.
I went to the framing section and waited while she helped another customer. After 15 minutes, the other customer walks away and so does the employee. She never came back! I wait another 5 minutes before another employee shows up to assist the line of customers waiting (me plus two others). At some point, the manager should have called for the second employee to come assist with customers, or at the very least COME BACK. I'm stunned that she just walked away from a line of customers at the framing section like she didn't care. The second employee was very helpful and polite when she came out.
After settling on my frames and matting, I decide to use an online code for the matting to get 40% off. The system won't let me add 3 pre-cut mattings to my online cart because it says there is not a sufficient quantity at this location. I PHYSICALLY HAVE THEM IN MY BASKET. I ask the manager (the same apathetic employee that ignored the line of customers waiting at the framing section) about it. She checks her inventory system and tells me that they only have 2 in stock. I show her all 3 and ask her how to fix this discrepancy so I can buy all 3 at the 40% off price. She says that she cannot sell the 3 online because the system is inaccurate and tells me to go to a different store. I ask if I can purchase all 3 now (in store) and just have them manually honor the 40% off. She again says no.

Black girl, i do believe she was the manager on duty. 10/27/18 at 9:15 pm. Asked her, how much is this hat. She looks it up on her phone and says, $5.99. I said, ok ! This part on the hat is missing the bow. She said, when you get to the front. Tell them to take an additional 15% off. I told her, you realize there gonna call you. She said. Yeah ! I'll let her know. Getting ready to check out, cashier says. No price tag,I told her I talked to that lady behind you. She turns around and says, how much ? She shows her her phone, $5.99 and says, give him 75% off. I said ! Wait ! You told me something different. She says ! that's better then what I told you ! Hmmm. Pee on my head, and tell me it's raining. That didn't fly with me. So I say ! Ok ! 70% plus 15% that you told me, doesn't equal 75%, it's 85%. She says. Sorry ! That's the best I can do 75%. And turns around, ignoring me. She had the attitude of, ok ! I changed my mind to 75% . And if you don't like it, to bad. My wife seen me starting to get angry, and immediately she said, let's go ! Cause she knows I can get nasty, real nasty. So ! If your looking for excellent customer service ? Come to this store ! They will be more then happy to give it to you. I know I want be coming...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. The manager, Jason at the Chandler store clearly has not had any training in how to deal with the public. He was extremely curt with me, over a return. There was a mixup with what happened at the original Michaels I purchased the items at and instead of explaining it in a calm, patient, kind way he was very short and rude and then accused me of being the rude one! I will admit I was a little frustrated with the situation because of how he was acting but instead of him trying to make it right as most managers (who have been properly trained) do, so refused to take my return and told me to take it back to the other store and they could deal with it because he wasn’t going to! All this over a $4 return mind you!!! I used to be the biggest Michaels fan but I’ve noticed more recently that their customer service is practically non-existent.
