This has been a good place to eat, 2 out of 3 times. We love the Kare Kare, pinakbet, pancit, egg rolls. One of my fave, Dinagooan, ehh...my wife and I agreed, my Dinagooan is much better. The location has changed, better location of course, much larger area to eat. We came for dinner around 5pm, our third visit, one of which was for take out, we noticed that the restaurant was humid as if the AC was off or not on cold enough, but got cooler as more people came in. Cost to quantity is fairly decent, the bbq stick is rather expensive for one. The lechon kawali could’ve been cut into smaller pieces. NOT ALL CUSTOMERS USE THEIR SPOONS TO CUT THIER FOOD. Would be nice to include knives with their utensils and extra napkins on the table. Customer Service? Unfortunately, it ends at the register. If you wanted to order something more later, you’d either have to get up and go to the register or try to flag someone down, which you only see staff when bringing orders out for other customers, and most times, you’re not successful at getting their attention, at least when we visited. So I don’t know if the restaurant is meant to be a fast food style restaurant or a traditional style restaurant? From my experience, fast food, you order and get your food at the register. Traditional restaurant, you order your food and your food is brought out to you when it’s ready by a waitress/waiter. So I don’t know, I’ll leave that up to you to decide. The kind lady that comes out to talk with her customers, we can tell she’s very dedicated to making her customers satisfied and it’s much appreciated and nice of her to do so. Just a suggestion though, if they had dedicated waitress/waiters/someone come out and ask if the customers needed anything or even refills of their drinks would be a great improvement. I’m sure they could garner more business/earnings if they did, who knows, maybe a customer might want to order dessert? So I missed out on having halo halo twice(if it was on the menu). They don’t have any water/soda stations to refill your drinks that I have seen. And if and when they do, I hope it’s not a water cooler? We’ve dined in twice and both times I ended up with an empty glass and thirsty. Luckily, I had a bottle of water in the car. Not sure if the place has a restroom, so I won’t comment on that. But they do have a video screen on the wall, which I think is neat, but could maybe close the shades on the window to see it better? Not sure if they have Karaoke Night. Overall, yes, I would come back to eat. Yes, I would recommend eating here, but the customer service should not end at the register after you order and pay for your food. Otherwise, it may make your customers feel unsatisfied. Customers should feel satisfied upon entering, when eating, and when leaving a restaurant. Unfortunately, I left unsatisfied by the customer service. This is just my opinion and my experience, but do try the place out and you decide. I would DEFINITELY choose this place over...
Read moreWe were recommended by a friend who had eaten and went at my place cafe. It’s just take one staff/person how food/ restaurant can turnout sour and bad as the person at the counter is one of the most miserable we ever encounter and experience in a Filipino in restaurant. As soon as you approached her and while taking our order she made you feel very unwelcome, unhappy, made and showed annoying to customers who has no clue what’s her problem . she is unbelievable, GOD KNOWS WHAT HER PROBLEM The other things was we have been there 6 times and every time we went there they were always run out of several popular food items. It very frustrating a good Filipino food/restaurant at last we have found. I do hope in the near future someday someone will tell this woman to be more pleasant, polite and be happy as Other Filipinos who are well known in the world a happy person, bubbly, smiley people on earth. In spite how much the food is good, we just can’t put ourselves going back to AT MY PLACE CAFE and spending almost $100 each time we went, we feel what a waste of time and money and giving the place several occasions a chance we have been there 6 times but definitely no more 7 time, unless this WOMAN At THE COUNTER change her attitude towards customer services amd no more RUNNING OUT OF FOOD and that makes the food turnout into sour and bitter like her and this alone reflects for a restaurant it self but at last we found another Excellent Filipino restaurant NANAY and the previous JEEPNEY, thanks...
Read moreThe reviews don’t lie! It’s a nice place with good food, but the customer service is lacking.
I walked in with a few other people and we weren’t greeted at all, just stared at. When I told - who I assume is - the owner/manager that I’m half Filipino she replied with “You don’t look Filipino!” It was confusing and a little embarrassing for me.
After that interaction service just went downhill from there. When I went up to the register to order the order taker was less than nice. There was no, “Hi what would you like,” or even a, “What can I get you.” She just stared at me until I said something. When I asked what exactly was in the pork lumpia (it says egg rolls on the menu which is, in my opinion, super weird) she just replied, “Pork.” Like, yes, I understand that but what else.
The inconsistency of the service was odd as well. There were 4 of us ordering, and only one of us was offered a water for the wait while the rest of us did not receive a water. We had ordered to-go, so when our food came out one of the employees brought mine to my table, while the other orders just sat on the counter for a bit until we realized they weren’t going to walk those out too. It’s not a horrible thing it was just confusing because of the inconsistency.
Perhaps I caught them all on an off day, but I don’t think I’ll be...
