I met up with a group of friends a few Saturdays ago to celebrate their birthdays. I had already tried the PHX location, so I was excited to try it once again but closer to home. When first entering the restaurant, I was drawn to the overall appearance from the front steps to the outdoor patio/waiting/seating area. The inside is also very aesthetically pleasing, although a little cramped depending on where you are sat. They have lovely music coming from a live guitarist near the entrance. We were led to the left side of the restaurant to be seated and once seated, our waiter was quick in taking our drink orders and even offered some great drink suggestions, which my friends came to love. The Coco Loco Mojito, and another beverage that came with a tamarind candy straw. He was very kind, polite, and patient with us when taking both our food and drink orders. I loved the bean and salsa dip that was brought out with the complimentary chips! The guacamole was also fresh and creamy. The beans had a little kick to them, which I enjoyed, and the red salsa had a great, spicy flavor to it. The Mexico city elote was another one of my favorite appetizers. I definitely recommend it! I was actually in the mood for something light that evening, and I ended up choosing the aguachiles alongside a nice, cold modelo beer as my entree, Two of my friends chose the Surf n' Turf and the third chose the Arrabiata di Chipotle Pasta. They were all super delicious meals, according to my friends. However, the green chile aguachiles sadly was not what I was expecting flavor-wise. The aguachiles were a little watered down and were also chewy in texture. I could not really taste anything other than the lime, but perhaps I could have asked for a side of green salsa to flavor them up some more. When the desserts came out, the birthday girls wanted the rest of us to try a bit of their cake and although the Tres Leches Cake was great in taste with a nice, soft flavor to it, it felt a little dense to me. My friend also complained about The Cheese Cake Cookie Dough, which was a cookie with ice cream on top. She stated they did not warm up the cookie for her, yet they brought it out to her in a mini cast iron skillet. The evening ended with some delicious red, tamarind rimmed shots brought to us by our amazing waiter (wish I could remember his name!). The restrooms were clean as well and the appearance of the restaurant was topnotch! Look forward to trying different items on their menu in the near future, thank you!

Come and see it for yourself! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went for my husband's birthday. Staff is very friendly and nice and very attentive. Our water server (i believe his name was anon?) was so polite, and not only continually made sure our glasses were full but asked what else he could do or if there was anything else we needed. The food was good. We enjoyed the corn Elote appetizer, (approx. 8 corn ribs) it was flavorful and we liked the sauce on top. I will say however, given it is basically one smaller single ear of corn cut up and topped with sauce and cheese, $14 seems a bit steep of a price. I had the birria tacos, which were very juicy and came with two types of consume, one spicy, one not, which is a nice touch. It does come with a side of beans but they are served in a small dipping cup you would normally receive condiments in. My husband had the enchiladas and said he enjoyed them. The fried ice cream we had for dessert was standard if a bit plain. I think they need to add something to it such as perhaps, caramel or chocolate sauce. They did add a Roman candle for his birthday and serve it on dry ice which was a thoughtful touch. The only thing I was truly disappointed in however, was the salsa served with the chips. The texture, taste, and consistency all equated to canned tomato sauce to me with seasonings added. Now, I'm not saying that's what they actually do; however, when I was a broke college student I used to make salsa using canned tomato sauce and some garlic salt and red pepper flakes, and this was exactly pretty much the same thing but with different seasonings, so if it's not, I'll be really surprised. For what seems to be a higher end Mexican restaurant I would think that they would at least have a decent quality fresh salsa. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our meal. I don't know that it's somewhere that we would be rushing back to go to again, but if someone we knew wanted to go there we wouldn't say no. They have some great dishes and the food we did have we enjoyed overall, I just think they have some things they need to work and improve upon.

After going here three times now the past two times have been terrible. Apparently they were only striving to be good because it was a new restaurant. They passed out coupons for google reviews when first opening to get the great stars but they are far from great and lack the backbone of a great establishment with quality service that matches price. After my awful anniversary I sent the manager Martin a email and I have yet to hear back from him. Don’t waste your time here. They need to get their act together.

If I could give a zero star review on service at the bar, I would. I have been here three times. See below for my two experiences that stood out.

Updated after second experience in June..

May 6th experience- We absolutely loved everything about Miel De Agave! So delicious, staff wonderful and drinks top notch!

Update went back June 24th for Anniversary-

Super disappointed tonight. Let me say after our dinner on May 6th, I told everyone I knew close to me about how much I loved the food and drinks here. Just overall had never had every single thing marked off our list. Like I did that night.

Second time is not a charm. We sat at the bar for our anniversary because I had a cute date night card game to play with my hubby. I don’t feel like that should have affected our service, however it did. Our Tomahawk Steak was completely cold, along with all our sides. My drink was mostly ice and did not compare to the first El Bebe, I had. Our server/bartender forgot to put in our appetizer. And let us down the entire time. When we expressed that our appetizer was missing, he did say that he had been there since 9am. Although we felt for the guy and tipped appropriately for the bill. I am completely let down. To management: This place has the opportunity to be top notch, so act like it. Food cold is unacceptable for a $80 dish. To not be attended to in an upscale establishment is unacceptable as well. I won’t be raving and passing the high phrases along again. Sad to say this anniversary dinner let me down. Hope you can kick it back in gear and strive to be...

I was really excited due to all the good reviews, unfortunately that’s not the experience I got. My fiancé and I were celebrating my birthday and we made reservations at 8:15. We were told that they could not honor the reservation due to high volume and that’s okay we understood. We got our table around the time of the reservation so that was great. We sat down and he ordered a drink while I decided what I wanted to get. It took 15 min for the first drink to come out and. 32 for the other drink to come out. Before the second drink even came out we were able to order our appetizers and main dishes. We got the appetizer right away, chips and guac. For $19 that was extremely underwhelming. Chips were stale and unseasoned, no salt at the table and no server seen for at least 40 min after that to accommodate. It may be a personal preference but the guac tasted almost as if it had seltzer water in it to add volume. Not a fan however that’s just personal preference. Our food came out before the second drink was even close to getting to the table. Birria tacos were fine and the carne asada could have used salt. They served the condiments such as guac, beans, and salsa in plastic 2oz cups. That’s not very appropriate for the price or type of service they are trying to promise. All these little details would not matter as much if we would have been able to accommodate with our server, but instead she stood by the bar waiting for drinks for another table the whole time. She apologized and offered us free dessert which was really nice of her but truly we would have not had a bad experience if someone was actually there to acknowledge the timing issues or even ask if the food was good. We didn’t get the dessert, because we just wanted to pay and get out of there. I truly have never had this type of service before. Server was extremely sweet but I figure she had a lot going on at the time. It all seemed rushed, yet inattentive. I’m disappointed and I know that’s not most peoples experience, perhaps it was just a busy night. I hope it all gets better but last...
