I always enjoyed the ambiance of the perch. So much so that I booked my milestone birthday there. From the get go, the managers tone of voice was extremely rude and short when I asked about accommodating additional guests. I let it go because they were open to accommodating extra guests (2 weeks before the dinner) by finagling the tables. I was fine as long as everyone was able to sit and eat. Come the night of the party (Feb 17) and they sat 20 people at one table and the remaining 12-15 would be seated elsewhere (again I was fine with that), while guests were arriving they came to say hi to me seeing that it was my birthday. The manager VERY RUDELY told me the additional people needed to sit at the other table. I explained that it was my birthday and people were just saying hi. Keep in mind, I'm 40 so this wasn't a young routy group. She snapped back with "well you're group is overwhelming the server so have your guests seated" At that point, I counted the people and there was 22 people (20 people max were allowed at that table) so over 2 people she made a very embarrassing situation. The service was extremely slow and if they couldn't handle the group that should have been told to me immediately. The hostesses were also rude stating at one point "if you have an issue I'll just bring my manager back to speak with you." This experience put such a bad taste in my mouth and tainted my previous experiences at the perch. Not only will I never return, but neither will the 30 guests that attended. In fact, a friend of a friend said they wanted to have their dinner there and they told them my experience which talked them out of it. So disappointing and anyone who wants to have a large party for dinner, choose a different location! I'm a very reasonable and considerate person, there was no excuse for the managers behavior. Such a shame because I enjoyed their atmosphere. Save yourself the frustration and get quality...
Read moreWe were there during lunchtime on a Wednesday afternoon. The food is outstanding but not inexpensive and the atmosphere is amazing, the service should keep that same vibe going and absolutely did not. I don't believe our server was trying to leave or turn the table over, but she had very bad timing and didn't seem to understand or anticipate needs. She asked me what I wanted to drink while handing me the drink menu, when I did order my drink she asked if I would have an entree from a section of the menu that came with a discounted beer so she could ring in the beer at the right price so I had to choose what I would be having in the moment I ordered my drink before I had looked at the food menu. Then she asked if I wanted to order my food before my partner arrived (knowing I was waiting for them), and then she asked me to pay the bill as I was boxing our food before she cleared any plates away. Also, I understand the handheld devices are the new thing for bill paying, and most servers are modestly polite and extend the device to you, hand it to you, or look away while you grat them, but she was looking at it with me which was awkward. Further, the options on the grat screen START at 20%, which if service is consistently great, sure, but I had to quickly choose to tip her either 20, 22, or 25% with her watching me while boxing my own food. There is a custom tip option as well, but in the rushed and inconvenient moment I didn't bother. Not a great experience, but excellent food, even the kids pizza was outstanding and fresh. We'll...
Read moreThe lunch food is a bit of a mixed bag. Some items are great, some not so great.
Tater tots are A+. Perfectly crisp and nicely seasoned. I enthusiastically recommend the tots here.
The Prime Dip is B-. The beef is quite a bit fattier than I expected, but the sauce and au jus are good. You have the option of adding lobster to this sandwich for a $5 upcharge. I ordered the lobster topping based on earlier reviews here that showed real lobster, but what I got instead was a topping that consisted of 80% shredded imitation lobster and 20% tiny chunks of real lobster. It did not look anything like earlier reviews. If I had known I'd be getting mostly imitation lobster, I would not have ordered the lobster add-on.
The Pineapple Express Burger is A-. Would be nicer if it had a solid slice of pineapple instead of the pineaple salsa it came with. The spam was a nice touch, but it was actually more enjoyable to take it out of the burger and eat it separately as a side. The teriyaki sauce on the burger was excellent. I would wholeheartedly get this burger instead of the Prime Dip next time.
Caesar salad is a solid A. It's simple, and it's honestly hard to screw up Caesar salad.
The wings are C-. They're not worth $19 in my opinion. The wings that had the dry rub seasoning were good, but the ones coated with jalapeno marmalade were not good.
All in all, food quality was mixed, but the atmosphere is great, especially outdoors with the bird enclosures. I see this as a great place to hang out and drink with your friends, with food...
