I really like tjmaxx most of the time. When I went in the whole back area where there are food storage stuff as well as the pet area was so disorganized it was overwhelming. I was just coming to get a cat scratcher pad because they usually have cute shapes at a reasonable price. Then when I got in line I was looking at the stuff in the isle like most people do. I got to the front and then I heard cashier 8. When I got over there the lady asked me "did I not hear her ringing her bell, she rang it three times" I have a hearing problem where it's harder for me hear words, especially over loud speakers because they sound more muffled to me. I tried to brush it off with a joke, saying "people just wanna hang out in the store you know" trying to laugh it off but then the cashier proceeded to shame me about not hearing it even when I said I have a hearing problem. "That's fine if people want to hang out in the store but it doesn't help us and our line". Then continued to talk to the other cashier making jokes about how people just don't hear her bell and going back and forth.
I don't know if she just didn't think about what she was saying but it was honestly really rude and really inappropriate. The whole interaction made me super uncomfortable especially since I'm not a confrontational person so I was really taken back by her words. Maybe she thought she was being funny or something, but it really wasn't, because of the fact that I am hard of hearing, especially since it felt like she was directing her frustration or "jokes" at me. I didn't catch her name because I honestly just wanted to get the hell out of that store and it doesn't say it on the receipt. But whoever she was she was a woman on register 8 at around 7pm today August 26th 2024.
If this is how you train your cashier's to interact with people or approve of this interaction then I want nothing to do with TJ...
Read morePoor Management on 8/12/24. The Manager that was hired does not know how to “manage”. The line wrapped the normal line area, which then extended out towards the clothing area. While only having 2 cashiers actively helping customers, there were 2 others talking behind the cashiers. There were 4 employees at the jewelry counter. As I went to the jewelry counter to ask for a manager to inform her of the line which she should already be tracking if she knew how to manage. The manger stated that she didn’t have the headcount to open another register. I asked if I could check out at Jewerly, in which I was then told and quoted “I am not allowed”!
This women who was hired to manage the store should be fired. She is not helping TJMax make money. People will leave the store if they have to wait over 10 minutes if not longer to pay for their items. I will leave my stuff and not want to go back especially since Ross is right next door.
Maybe teach your employees that in order for them to get paid, you need customers...
Read moreMy reason for only giving it two stars this. It's T.J maxx, and I love T.J maxx, I shop there all the time. However I discovered the other night at their Christmas clearance none of the prices are discounted correctly. All items are supposed to be 65% off.but many aren't even marked 50% off. However, the correct pricing won't automatically scan, because the yellow tickets they place on clearance Is NOT for that item but a general tag that just scan whatever the dollar amount says. So if an item original price is 19.99, 65% off means it Should be $6.99. However if the yellow tag says $10 it still scans at $10. I had to make them retag every clearance item I bought as NONE of it was correctly priced. Had I not checked, I'd have spent $35 MORE than what I ended up paying because I caught their error. Look, I get it it's xmas clearance and it's tjmaxx. But it doesn't matter, they are overcharging people and cashiers are not making sure items have the actual percentage off. Do better Tjmaxx. And be...
