**See response from owner below- I appreciate your acknowlegment of a major miss on a Westie cut. And appreciate your offer to make it right. you can- It's easy---- as I requested when we spoke and in my review. Please refund the grooming charge for $70 (keep the tip I added) It's called accountability- I'll be the first to acknowledge the payment returned for a bad grooming experience in my reviews and I recommend you be upfront and refrain from offerring Westie cuts if the expertise isn't there. There is nothing on your site I could find, in your FAQs or provided to me at the time of booking that you have a policy of no refunds after services provided regardless of outcome.
Harley is 15, and normally I have a mobile groomer, but she wasn't available, and he needed a short haircut. This is my 2nd Westie, I've raised them and know the Westie cut and what to ask for. I reached out to this place and confirmed they definitely knew Westies/cut. I was told that a groomer would be selected who had Westie experience and knowledge of exactly what I was looking for. I sent them a pix of Harley ahead of time with the look we liked and what I'd hope to have- I mentioned it was a little long but overall -the look we liked. Post shave, I asked for an explanation and total refund of $70 (for what should have been a complete service with West Highland cut). There is nothing about his "shave cut" that even resembles a professional Westie cut. I told them I would wait for a response and then determine if I would post my experience. Maybe she misunderstood what I requested...but no- I received a call and said the cut met Westie standards and I was offered an unnamed discount for the next time I came in and/or a discount for treats, but they don't give refunds after the cut has been provided, which is kind of hilarious and bizarre in itself. She said I chose a blade for the cut, which I did not do-- I did see the various blades, and the longest blade example seemed too short, and I mentioned that as the groomer came out to meet Harley. I didn't want a full show dog cut but wanted him with a short version cut. (Just Google Westie short cut pictures). The groomer was very nice which didn't mean she knew a Westie cut. He looked right out of chemo therapy. His ears were not done right, his eyes needed to be cleaned - I mentioned he had a sty on the outside top of his left eye. If they had a question, they just had to call me, which they didn't. His feet and legs and tail were a disaster. I didn't want a full skirt but a short cut, which should have been clear to someone who does Westies and not the full body shave with multiple gouges, except for the apparently untrimmed tail. The standard short Westie cut didn't even come close to what awaited me... The fact that I was told this was accepted as a standard short hair cut for a Westie is a clear warning to avoid this place if you have a Westie for sure!!! Especially with the response I received--Give this...
Read moreThis is not our first visit, not our second visit, but it was our third visit to this very location. My husband and I LOVED this place so much we were willing to make the 20 min drive to bring our dog here rather than going to another groomer closer to our residence. The first 2 groomers who worked with us were fantastic! Today we were met with Shaniqua. Not the friendliest camper out there. I was telling her what we would like to do for the full groom appointment we booked for our dog today and she cut me off by saying she didn’t recommend shaving the dog. If she had let me continue speaking the first time, I was trying to communicate that we only wanted her double coat cleaned up as was recommended and done previously during by the groomer at her 2nd visit here. We were told the visit would take 1.5 hours or longer due to there being one dog ahead of her, which we were fine with as all of her appointments here take 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. I was very surprised to get a text for a 15 min pickup warning only 45 mins after dropping her off. I arrived exactly one hour from the time I dropped her off and asked the cashier if everything had gone okay because I’ve never had an appointment take so little time at this very place. She said Shaniqua is just very fast at what she does and even confirmed for us with Shaniqua herself that everything was done. Shaniqua responded with slight attitude to the cashier telling her everything was done. Again, just not a happy camper I guess. We paid and reluctantly tipped before even seeing what condition our dog came out to us in. Not a fan of that. Let me see my dog before I pay for a service, I tip based off of the quality of the groom. My dog is handed over to me and I see her fur was not as trimmed/cleaned up as I would have liked it to be and her face is not trimmed how I specifically asked it to be. Again, we have been here before and had no issues previously. My husband and I were walking out of the door when Shaniqua stopped us and mentioned to book the deshedder next time. She said she used it complimentary on our dog and recommended it for the next visit. That alone is the reason for 2 stars. I appreciate you doing extra services to take care of my dog, but please at the very least do what I came in for prior to doing so. Based on this experience today, my husband and I most likely won’t be back. We may wait for the santan location to open closer to us before giving woof gang...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place because it is new to the area, the staff were friendly and previous customers left great reviews. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. I brought in my Pomeranian mix, who had a beautiful, long coat. I asked for just a light trim to clean him up while keeping his natural shape and fluffy appearance—nothing drastic.
I was told the groomer, Jose, was running late, so I didn’t get the chance to speak with him directly. I explained what I wanted to the employee who checked us in, and I understand Jose likely did his best with the information he was given. That said, the haircut ended up being much shorter than I requested, and my dog lost that signature Pomeranian look I had hoped to maintain.
What was most disappointing—and honestly upsetting—was discovering a bare patch on his side that had been shaved down to the skin. It was noticeable once I got home and took his harness off. I understand that accidents can happen, especially with wiggly dogs, but what really bothered me was that there was no mention of it. I would have appreciated transparency from the groomer at pickup rather than finding it on my own once we got home.
Even more frustrating is that I left a message expressing my concerns, and no one has followed up with me. At the very least, I expected a response and some accountability. As kind as the staff were, the lack of communication and follow-through left me with a really disappointing experience I...
