Last weekend my boyfriend and I took a trip to Houston and while we were there decided to shop at this Jcpenney. It was the first time we were there and the largest I had ever seen. After about an hour of filling up our basket and navigating through the much too crowded isles we decide we were tired and wanted to quickly try on our clothes and leave. We had a four hour trip back home to deal with afterward. To save time, we decided to both use the men's dressing room. I figured there would be no issue because I've worked at a jcpenney before and not only did we allow it but encouraged women to use the men's when the women's was overcrowded. It was never a rule we enforced and there were no other men in the dressing rooms anyway. So we both went in and after trying on a shirt, overheard someone loudly pushing our buggy. It was a Jcpenney sales associate, so I told her we were still using the buggy and asked where the remaining merchandise went. She loudly dropped the eyeshadow I intended buying into the buggy and defected the merchandise. And just pointed where she had put the shoes. She both rudely and loudly said that this was a men's room and I wasn't suppose to be in there because other male sales associates go in there. I apologized and told her I didn't think it was a big deal because as I stated before, I have worked at a jcpenney before and they never cared. Then I went back in the dressing room so I could change into my own shirt and go to the women's dressing room and she kept going on about it. My boyfriend overheard the whole thing and got upset and told her we were planning on buying a lot of merchandise from the store pointing at our pile of clothes but because of her we were leaving immediately without purchasing a thing. I told her that it was hypocritical of her to enter the men's dressing room if she planned on sticking to that rule. I told her that next time something like that happens she should really reconsider her approach and not be so rude about it. As we went to leave, my boyfriend decided to ask to speak to the manager and as it turned out SHE was the manager. I tried to calmly explain why I was in there again and she just kept stating it was the men's dressing room slower and slower as if I couldn't understand what she was saying! She said we could still shop and apologized but I told her we were still upset and she repeated that she apologized as if that solved the whole problem! We asked for her name and saw her name is Lorena. I cannot believe that someone so quick to be rude to a customer about something so small would be selected for a manager position! I would rather order online than deal with such poor customer service! I do not plan on ever going back to that...
Read moreIâll start by saying i love J.C. Penneyâs and i go to this location very frequently. I am giving this location a 3 star based on my last visit. I came in for some work clothes and found a total of 7 shirts and 2 pairs of pants that i really liked. Before going to the register i looked online to see if they had any coupons. There were no in store coupons for what i was getting but there was a promotion for 60% off of $100 for online purchases. I took the time to search the sku numbers for the products i was interested in purchasing and realized that i would save $156 by going with the online coupon. I take shopping in my neighborhood seriously so before i put everything back i went to the register and asked if they could price match it (Iâd rather give the business to the store in my neighborhood than to the website). The cashier told me it shouldnât be a problem and that the manager can over ride it. Well when the manger came over and the cashier explained to her what was going on she very rudely said âno you have to buy onlineâ. Well thatâs interesting considering J.C. Penneyâs has closed several locations and I would think she wouldâve been more concerned with getting business in her store rather than losing it to online. Instead she literally blew me off. This is why locations close and people lose jobs to the internet. As somebody to works in multi unit management i think your associates could benefit from having a more of an owners mentality and better understanding of how to talk to customers to assure that they are growing their business. If you as a company encourages them to tell guest they canât price match the website then shame on you too. Rule of thumb is once a guest leaves its very unlike that they will come back or even buy online. To top it off i wasnât given a receipt because the printer went down and the cashier said she emailed it..never got it. I did end up buying online and will be picking up in store. Iâll update my review based on that experience.
Letâs do better to maintain our business...
Read moreIt saddens me to have to post negative comments about unsupportive staff and unprofessional business services. I placed an online order on a Friday with partial items being same day pick up. I received a notification that the items were ready....only 1 item was available @ 6pm Saturday.
The system had stated that all of my items were ready on that Saturday night at 9pm. (mind you, I had just left the store hours ago)
I prepare to pickup my items after church, Sunday, to receive a notification that my items were canceled due to non-pick up date of 7/15? Hunh! I was livid by this time, sleepy from 8:15 am early morning worship, to a pack of bull around 12pm Sunday.
The manager, Claude advised me to search for my items since they were returned to the floor, and he would hold them until the rest of my items were shipped. WTH?! Mwaw, go fetch her items that she ordered, whom is tired to receive no support from the staff to pick up my items for me.
Guess what, I went today, to have been told by the same guy, my order was moved to the floor and that I can go look for my items again. I was in pain from working, sick from an upper respiratory infection and when I stated this to Claude, he said that this will make me feel better by moving around!
I was in rage, I left my entire order, or fabricated order at the store. I plan to file a complaint with the GM. I AM DISAPPOINTED, HURT...
