I spent a long time, almost 4.5 years, searching for a new massage therapist after moving from Europe to the US. It was hard to find someone who could give me a deep tissue massage like my previous therapist back home. Luckily, I found Brian Welty and Frank Laccone at Massage Envy Therapy.

Very dissatisfied with my experience here. I've been shopping around for a new massage place as my old personal masseuse moved out of town. My wife had several massages available at Massage Envy and recommended I use one of hers to see if I like the place.

I showed up at 6:45 for a 7:00pm 1 hr massage. I was handed a clipboard to fill out paperwork and taken to the "Quiet Room." Not so quiet as I was easily able to hang on every word of an argument the front desk staff were having with each other while I was left sitting in this room for roughly 30 minutes.

At 7:15pm I was taken to a back room where I was questioned about what I was looking for, I expressed interest in deep tissue massage targeting specific problem areas I have.

My session ended at 7:55pm and the treatment was generic at best. I received the exact same attention/routine with equal pressure across my entire body. Absolutely no customized reactions to the specific target areas I identified before we started.

After re-clothing, I entered the hallway where my masseuse handed me a plastic cup of water, shook my hand, and said "have a nice day, see you next time" and disappeared into the back. I wasn't even escorted back to the front desk/waiting area.

When I did make my way back to the front desk, the staff handed me a receipt and simply told me to have a nice day, no offer to sign up for membership (even after I originally mentioned I'm looking for a new place) and no attempt to even schedule me a single future session.

My 2 cents as someone who works for a Global Marketing and Management Consulting firm:

  1. Sales: Revamp your sales training and prioritize hot prospect recognition, no way I should openly say I want to be sold, and an attempt to sell me not even be made.

  2. Customer Service: The simple courtesy of walking me out goes a long way towards providing a positive experience, and costs you absolutely nothing, 100% ROI right here. As well if you're starting my session late due to a delay on your part, my end time should be adjusted. I paid for an hour and got 35-40 minutes at most.

  3. Infrastructure: Employee's disagree at times, that's life. Have thick enough walls in your "Quiet Room" that actually make it a quiet space. To be honest they weren't even that loud, slightly elevated voices but not as if they were screaming at each other.

  4. Under delivering: If all you offer is a one size fits all style massage, tell me that up front. Don't eat into my hands on contact time by having a conversation with me about my personal needs, and then not bother to address a single one of them. Makes it come off entirely inauthentic.

Hope this is useful for future business. I don't see...

Do not get a membership here - absolute scam. I was pressured into signing up for a membership at the only massage I have been able to schedule back in October. Once you become a member, it is very difficult to schedule a massage as they never have appointments available. I regretfully signed a 6 month contract in October and have not been able to get out of the contract - they even continued to charge me after the 6 months were over. I moved more than 25 miles away from the location, and yet I was not told that that would have qualified me to break my contract. Additionally, when my 6 months were up in April and I emailed about cancelling, the manager replied and asked me to sign another form to cancel (why is the email request not enough??). However, her response went to my spam folder and I was charged again for May and June. Now that I am moving across the country, they claim that they have finally cancelled my membership (although I have read online about people continuing to be charged even after being told their membership is cancelled), but they have only given me 60 days to schedule my unused credit. If I have not been able to find ANY open appointments at this location over the last 8 months, in what world would I be able to find SEVEN open appointments over the next 60 days? Especially when I’m moving across the country this week?? They have refused to refund me for anything, including May and June, and also cannot direct me to a contact i can speak to at the corporate level.

This is an absolute scam - I deeply regret ever signing a contract with them. Do not let them pressure you into a contract like they pressured me. I promise you it is not worth it and you will waste hundreds of dollars, in addition to the massive frustration that...

Worst massage experience of my life today. I booked a couples massage 1 day prior, and showed up 20 minutes early excited to unwind. When it came time to start, only one masseuse was available. She wanted to take back my partner to get started, because she had other clients after our 60 minute slot. She informed me that my masseuse, Frank, was running over with his current client. We agreed for her to take my partner back and get started, fully expecting to still be in the same room getting what we paid for once Frank was done. When Frank finally came out to take me back, he escorted me to a private room. I politely told him that we booked a couples massage, another masseuse told me that they couldn't do the couples because my partner was already in a solo room.

Needless to say I was pissed but continued to get the massage. Not only did my massage start 10 minutes late, it was cut short by Frank, telling me that ā€œmy time is up.ā€ My scalp massage that I selected WAS NOT DONE, and neither was my partners face or hand massages. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! Staff is unprofessional, lazy, and rude. Go to Hand &...
