Food Lion — Local services in Charles Town

I moved to Charles Town WV last year in December. It was wonderful to learn that it was a Food Lion near me. What I didn't know was we had to drink bottle water; mind you my husband and I are disabled. My husband has always shopped at Walmart. There he had a hard time finding someone to lift a case of water, put it in the basket and put it in the truck. I told him I shop at Food Lion where the people are friendly and helpful. Well they didn't disappoint. Phil was the person who got our water , put it in the basket and put it in the car. Now when we go in to shop I see Phil and tell him how many cases I want and they are sitting up front waiting for me to finish shopping and you best believe he takes them to the car. This is why I shop there. The store is clean, the employees go above and beyond. Thanks Food Lion for not disappointing me! Here is an update 7/13/2024: A few weeks ago I met Bri another wonderful employee here who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help make sure my shopping experience here is satisfactory. Food Lion is really the star of the discount supermarkets. The store brand is really quite good. Offten better then the name brands. They also Calley cha-ching (sp?) Brand which is really great. They have the best rotisserie chickens in the area and their deli is pretty good also.

Only reason it's not 5 stars is the people in the bakery are the least helpful people you'll ever meet. They will be having a conversation in English and you ask them a question and they either hide or respond that they don't speak English.

All in all a great store, love the store brand. Lots of locations...

Being new to the area my husband and I went in to the store to see what it was. We purchased a few things and proceeded to check out. The cashier was very chatty with the two customers in front of us in line even to the point of holding up the line. When it was our time the cashier spoke to the people behind us.
