I've bought furniture from here twice. Luckily, both times I've bought the extended warranty.
The first time through I was looking for a set of recliners. The sales team was happy to help with any questions I had. The lady whom I worked with showed me their best selling and her personal favorites. We ended up buying two recliners. One was more stationary while the other had a swivel. The swivel one was fairly problematic and had to be serviced a few times, but since then we've had no issues with either one.
The second go round, I was looking for a couch and love seat or sectional. I spent nearly an hour looking before finding what I thought was a nice reclining couch, reclining love seat, and recliner set. I went ahead and bought the extended warranty, because you never know. After a couple of weeks we had our full set and thought everything was great. Queue the issues.
Within the first 7 months I had issues with the love seat. The service tech came out a week later to take look. The tech told me that it'd probably be 6 - 8 weeks for parts. Within a month the tech was back out with parts and the love seat fixed. (The tech in our area is great.). 2 months after that issue, the couch had the same issue along with a broken zipper on the foot rest. I called and the tech showed up a couple of weeks later. The tech wrote up the work order then left. I was then messaged by Big Sandy that it would be 8 - 10 weeks before they'd receive my parts because they're coming from overseas with an ETA 9/10. On 9/24 I was notified that our parts still haven't been received and given a new ETA of 10/4. On 10/7, I was given a new ETA of 10/18. Our 8 - 10 weeks for parts has turned into a 15 week wait.
Update: repair has been delayed yet again. ETA is 11/15. Really?!?
I understand stuff breaks, not everything comes from the factory in perfect condition, but I've had so many issues with the furniture I've bought from Big Sandy. To add to all the issues, make me wait 3 months to get something fixed is absurd. While waiting on parts for my couch, the love seat has started having issues again. I don't know if it's worth my time to call that in. It may be another 3 months before that can be fixed.
Follow up: after the last delay I decided to contact the store directly to see if I could get some assistance with my issue. Apparently the manufacturer was to blame for the long wait. Adam, I believe was a sales manager, offered to give me store credit because of the manufacturer's issues. I walked in, found a replacement couch, and signed some papers. The couch was delivered within a week and Big Sandy took our junk furniture.
Make sure you research the brands of furniture before going to the store. Some manufacturers are overseas, which was the case for the furniture we had so many issues with. After our last set, we decided to only buy furniture made in the USA. Also, if you don't feel like you're getting your questions answered then talk to someone else, they may be able to help you out. While not every manufacturer stands behind their product, Big Sandy will do their best to remedy the issue. Thanks again Adam for...

Hello,
I would like to share my experience with shopping here the sales rep was terrible from the moment we walked in the store but we just bought a house and needed furniture. As soon as I walked in I said hello I heard you were having a tent sale she said no... I was like ok are you having any sales she was like yeah... Im like ok we are looking for a living room suit. She showed us a few and walked off while we found once we liked we told her we wanted the one on display the light cream color. We were told it was in stock but couldn't be delivered for another week. I was disappointed but we needed the furniture and I loved the color so I chose to wait.
Today was the day of delivery they sent text alerts letting you know they are on there way the delivery men were wonderful. However my couches are the wrong color. I called Big Sandy furniture right away and asked for a manager someone named Adam got on the line I let him know I was highly upset and disappointed because our couches are the wrong color. This man had the nerve to act like it was no big deal and told me he could give me a $100 gift card. I was like why would i want that when you cant even get my first order right. I told him absolutely not. Then he was like well thats all i can do I can get you a new couch by next friday. So i took a day off work and now this man wants me to take another day off work so I can hope this ones right. This was supposed to be a special day new furniture for my new house this is our very first family home we bought and now it looks terrible. I asked for corporates number and he was like there just going to tell you the same thing I am. I am currently waiting for the corporate manager to call me. I have zero confidence this will be taken care of.
I'm also supposed to be having some family over this weekend to see my new house which now looks terrible with my blue walls grey floors and dark brown couches I've looked forward to this all week. I say if you ever thought of buying furniture from here do yourself a favor and save the headache and don't. My mother was going to buy her new living room suit from here but after the experience I've had she has chosen to take her...
Read moreI bought a sectional November 12, 2020. It took months too receive a few pieces. I received those pieces during the mask mandate and either the delivery guys didn’t have on mask or they weren’t wearing them appropriately. I didn’t even know this until they got upstairs because I couldn’t see as they were coming inside carrying furniture. Then the wedge chair had a hole so I only had two recliners and a armless chair. Then when they delivered the chair and attached it as soon as they left it came apart, which cause it to move around all over the floor each time you sit down. Then a serviceman came out and said the screws weren’t in the correct area and he would have to drill into the board and that would make it weak and possible break, so the manager ordered a replacement. That took months to come in so in the meantime I asked if they could have someone come and drill and attach anyway. That did happen. That guy said the bolts just needed moved up with no drilling. In the meantime a manager called to tell me I owed more money because they gave me two discounts and shouldn’t have. I had a paid in full invoice. She said she would turn me over to a collection agency. I spoke to another manager and he said if I didn’t pay the additional monies I wouldn’t get the two consoles I was still waiting on. I had to call the corporate office numerous times to get in contact with a manager who looked up my purchase and I did not owe more. They did bring the replacement chair and were nice enough to let me keep both chairs until my consoles come in, with the option to purchase the damaged one at half price. It’s August 27, 2021, and I’m still waiting on the consoles. The sectional is the worst, most uncomfortable furniture I’ve owned. This experience has been a nightmare. I should have went with my gut instinct when the sales lady was rude and not made...
