This business does not respect the African American community that keeps it up and running. Many of the employees donât speak English and the one or two that do speak English treat Black customers with little to no respect at all when there is a problem with a purchase. You will NOT get a refund OR store credit even, and especially if the store manager offers it to you to get you to purchase any of the hair products. When a customer has an issue the manager and workers start speaking in Spanish and laughing and snorting as if the whole thing is a joke. The manager will lie and say he did not offer you store credit. In my case the manager opened a pack of expensive hair to show me how to make hair clip-ons. I said, âWhat if it doesnât work for me, thatâs a lot of money to spend on something that might not work.â He said, âYou can bring it back if it donât work, I canât give you money back but I can give you store credit.â So, I bought the already opened package that he had clipped the twist and pulled the hair from the string to demonstrate with. Well, it didn't work for me and I went back three times because they kept finding something wrong with the package. The first time was my fault because I forgot the plastic insert, but the last two times made it clear they had no intention of giving me a store credit. They said it had to be in âOriginal Conditionâ The insanity of their rude behavior was that the manger offered to exchange the hair for exactly the same hair! I didnât get that at all! Why not give me the store credit to get other items that I could use. Anyway, I was stunned and extremely disappointed in the treatment of Blacks at this business, especially when they get ALL their business from the Black community. I had already noticed that they do not hire any Black people at all. If they did it was not for any length of time at all. I have never seen any Black employees in any visible area of this business at all. I hope our community will stop spending hard earned money in a business that not only do not support our community but treat Black people disrespectfully and with no considerate customer service at all. I will not spend another penny at Carolina Beauty Supply. And Tacho, the manager is a liar and a smiling thief. He smiled and said to me âYou made the decision to buy.â My decision was based on his promise that I could return for store credit. I thought he was a decent person but he allows and teaches his workers to be as deceptive and...
Read moreI wish u could give them 0 stars. I really cannot stand this beauty supply store. It is an ABSOLUTE last resort for me! The way they stand and watch you the whole time is very uncomfortable and irritating. While I understand that there are the bad apples that steal and whatever else, not all of us (black people) are like that. I finished a long days work and my legit and legal job, I come in here to buy a shower cap, my child is looking around at other things while Iâm picking a cap and a bonnet (because i remembered they will charge me for my debit card under a certain amount) and there are at least 3 people on each end of the isle and one standing by the door watching us. The cashier wouldnât even hand me my bag (even after the payment was processing, Iâm guessing to make sure the payment was going to go through). Like the old saying goes, they want our money, put these stores in the black areas and then treat all like we are beneath them or all thieves. On top of all of this they are NEVER OPEN the hours that they advertise! Iâve been at nearby stores and have seen so many people pulling on the door because the hours on THE DOOR say they will close at 7pm and they are already closed at 6:30pm. Only in the black neighborhood will they do this and get away with it. From this day forward I will avoid this store altogether, i will no longer give the a penny of my money even if they are the...
Read moreFirst time going into this place, and if I could give this place zero stars, I would say the only reason they get one is because of the guy ringing up my purchase. As I'm checking out, I notice the price being higher, then I saw it on the shelf, so I asked if I could go double check the price. And when I came back letting them know it was not the same on the shelf everyone tried to tell me that is the price so I have to take it ( meaning what it scanned up to be), no you have to honor the price on the shelf due to your error of not replacing it. That's not the CUSTOMER fault. Then the lady was rude, telling me to go take it up with the manager pointing in whatever direction, and then when the manager came up he's looking me up and down, saying .50 cent, whatever just give that, and I'm letting him know the correct price for both items. It doesn't matter how much of a difference it is. The price on the shelf is what it needs to ring up as. I wish I didn't spend my hard earned money at this place that just treats people with no respect. I will definitely not...
