I’m really disappointed to write a poor review especially at an upcoming vegan establishment but unfortunately this cafe did not meet the mark! The front cashier lady was new bless her but had little to no information about the menu, or allergies within the dishes. My family came to see me off before I left at the airport given it’s only 5 min from the airport we thought this would be the perfect spot! Thank goodness it’s so close it took almost 2.5 hours for the food to come out where I almost missed my flight… we made sure the cashier lady knew we needed to leave in a timely matter when we came and sat down and that we had a party of 7… given that most the food was fried and most of it was already meal prepped I have no understanding how the food took over two hours to come out… the food was really disappointing all fried tho tasty not healthy and not creative I order the mushroom bowl and I just got a to go container full of friend mushrooms and the picture showed grilled mushrooms with rice and a sauce and some other veggies So we went to leave and then the cashier wouldn’t check us out bc to go order people surged in and we were running so late So I really am disappointed in this overall experience and don’t recommend the cafe unless they take some time to reflect and edit on multiple different points of their...
Read moreMy first time visiting Love In Action Cafe, and I wasn’t too impressed with the food. I ordered the meatloaf bowl with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. For $18, the meal was disappointing. My bowl was watery from the collard greens' juice, and the macaroni and cheese was bland and lacked flavor. The collard greens were also bland and seemed canned. The meatloaf was made with Beyond Meat and had a tangy flavor, which wasn't my favorite.
The cashier mentioned that this was the most popular dish, but if that’s the case, I don’t think I’ll be returning. It’s unfortunate that the cost of the food doesn’t match the quality. My mom (who isn’t vegan) ordered the cauliflower wings with hot sauce, and instead of properly tossing the wings in sauce, they just poured a bunch of hot sauce over them. I had to request a separate container to keep the wings from getting soggy. My mom was disappointed and didn’t want to finish her wings.
I’m disappointed with the quality of food at this restaurant. The best part was the enthusiasm of the owner, but beyond that, I would strongly suggest they improve the quality...
Read moreI’m rounding up on 3.5 stars on this one. The food was good. I got a cheesesteak and fries ($15) with a green shake ($12) after tax and tip, it was $36. My only complaint with the food is that the bread wasn’t toasted. The service was great, though it would have been cool if they had offered filtered water in pitchers for people dining in.
My main complaint is that we dined in and my food was served in a styrofoam container, which if it cost $5-$10 that would have been cool, but if you’re charging someone $20 for a plate, you should get a plate and a cloth napkin with flatware made of metal, not plastic. The vinyl tablecloth didn’t bother me as much, but if it were my restaurant, I would get cloth tablecloths.
The green shake was really good, and the people I was with really liked their food and fresh squeezed juices. It was mainly the cost (which was equivalent to a nice restaurant) didn’t match how the food was being served (which was like a cheap takeout...
