iāve been coming to club pilates for about 7 months and i cannot recommend it enough!! i spent a few years trying different forms of exercising and desperately seeking one that makes my body and mind feel good. pilates is that exercise! its low impact, so you can do several classes a day without straining yourself too hard (though ive found 2 a day to be the best; good workouts without being too sore the next day). the classes are all 50 minutes long, including warm up and stretching, and itās enough to challenge you physically. ive seen a massive change in my body since coming, having dropped about 15 pounds in the first four or so months. im stronger, leaner, and happier than ive ever been! the instructors are all so wonderful but i want to give special shoutout to allie, candice, hayley, & JC. i take their classes most frequently and every class challenges different parts of your body! they are observant and will correct your form if its wrong and make suggestions for increasing the challenge (if you feel up to it ;-)) and utilize the different miscellaneous exercise equipment that may otherwise go untouched in other classes. i have the unlimited membership and its 10000% worth it if you go frequently. being able to jump into any free class is a great motivator. waitlists for classes can be extremely long the closer you get to the class time, so i recommend scheduling at least a couple days in advance, which is a lot easier if you are unlimited. all in all, i love coming to club pilates dilworth! its a wonderful, welcoming community of people and i cant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve practiced Pilates for years and was excited to try this location after recently moving to Charlotte. Unfortunately, my initial experience left me disappointed.
In the lead-up to class, I received three reminder callsāeach one more abrupt than the last, focused solely on policies rather than any welcome or enthusiasm. When I arrived 20 minutes early, the person at the front desk seemed visibly irritated, despite a group of about 10 of us showing interest in joining. It was a surprisingly cold first impression.
Thankfully, our instructor was absolutely lovelyāwarm, engaging, and made the class itself feel fun and approachable. However, the experience ended on another sour note when the front desk attendant told us all to sit down, tossed a pamphlet at us, and walked away without so much as a thank you or farewell.
As someone who works in hospitality, I always remind our valet and front desk teams: you are the first and last impression. How you make someone feel can be the deciding factor in whether or not they return. With the number of Pilates options in the area, that initial interaction matters...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreClub Pilates has 3 different levels of classes. 1,1.5, & 2. You can only get into level 2 classes once the studio invites you . After 2 months of 1.5 classes (mind you, I've been physically active and working out for 11 years), I still wasn't invited to join. The level 1.5 classes were never quite enough to break even the slightest sweat, although the class instructors were really great at what they do. I decided to suspend my membership because paying $100 for a workout without ever sweating or feeling sore/tight was a waste of money. I paid for 3 months and my credits for the last month were taken back because I didn't use them within 30 days. Club Pilates got my money, but I did not have the option to use those classes (that I paid for) after a very busy month at work. I did voice these concerns to the manager, Stacie. "This is the policy, I'm sorry," was the best answer I was afforded. I was very unhappy with the mild-intensity of the classes and definitely did not get my money's worth.
If you're looking for a more intense workout, I'd...
