I just left this location after deposited funds. I had a question that the teller, David Malick, refused to answer. When I asked the question, he said āHold onā, as if I had asked that he recite a difficult algebraic equation, rather than placing my money into the electronic counter. He stated that he could (would) not tell me the answer to the question, not because he did not know, but because I was not at liberty to know why he wanted my license and to know my occupation. Following the transaction, I received a receipt, but remained standing at the counter as he refused to say anything further. He did not ask if my transaction was complete or inquire as to my need for any further assistance. I found this odd as I witnessed him being extremely friendly and personable with a previous customer. I ended up looking up the question I had asked following Mr. Malickās refusal to respond and found that tellers/bankers are required to answer this particular question when asked directly. Looking through these comments, there is a noticeable trend of people of color being treated differently, particularly if you are looking to complete transactions with what may be considered ālargeā amounts of money. I do not recommend using this location prior to knowing that personnel are trained...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a loyal customer of Wells Fargo for nearly 20 years and I visited this particular branch last week to deposit an $11,000 check into my savings account and the branch manager told me that he could not deposit my check due to a reason that he could not disclose. I asked the manager the reason why the check could not be deposited, and he refused to provide me with an answer or explanation.
I had to drive to another Wells Fargo branch at 2821 Pineville-Matthews Rd, Charlotte, NC 28270, which is about 15-20 minutes away from my home, and they had no problem depositing the check into my savings account within five minutes, which cleared the next day.
Clearly, there was nothing wrong with my check since another branch was able to deposit it, so why wasn't my check deposited at this location? Makes you wonder, right?! I was insulted, frustrated, and even perplexed as to why I was treated this way by this Wells Fargo branch. I felt that I was discriminated against and racially profiled at this location for absolutely no reason at all.
I should not have to drive 20 miles away from my home to deposit a legitimate check and be treated with dignity and respect. I will be closing my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to open a checking account so I started the process online. They told me I could do the entire thing online and that they were too backed up to book apts. I thought it seemed simple but then I get an error message saying I need to verify my ID at a branch, most likely because I am not an American citizen. My husband is a Wells Fargo Private Banking customer and has been for years. I am currently still using my Canadian accounts and I realized today that I need to set up an account to pay for something because he is out of town. I went to the bank were they personally embarrassed me in front of multiple ppl and told me I couldnāt get an apt until next week? They treated me as if they are doing me a favor to open an account with them. This is a horrible example of customer service and a great example of discrimination. DO NOT BANK HERE. I will take my...
