Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am a 21 year old woman and I made the mistake of wearing my street clothes rather than breeches. I was greeted rudely and not taken seriously. The two women were belittling and straight up rude. I was cut off when speaking numerous times. I was spoken to in a condescending tone and greeted with a sneer and a laugh when inquiring about sizing for boots. I mentioned that I had a long drive to and from and was refused sizing during their hours of operation. I too work in customer service and would be fired on the spot if I spoke to paying customers the way I was spoken to today, especially at this price point. I’m not much of horse nut, but when I run into other folks who are involved in the equine industry, I’m usually put off by an air of superiority, disdain and general “uppity” behavior. This is NOT the case at Dover Saddlery. I was met by the nicest woman, unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. She answered my questions and was a huge help without making me feel small. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone from novice to expert. Rude staff. I love Dover usually, but do not appreciate being treated impolitely by staff because I’m not their typical demographic. Unwelcoming greeting, treated like I was lost, and when finally deciding to leave because of uncomfortable environment- an older staff lady made the comment of “use your big boy muscles” when opening the door to leave.
