Coming here from 8300 miles away in the Pacific, the ingredients for the dishes from my region are scarce. C'ville Oriental has what I need to get the job done in the kitchen. Cooking Asian dishes? This is your Charlottesville GO-TO-PLACE! Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and everywhere in between; they have what you need to get you that taste of home dish. They even have Pork Bellies, Beef Shank Meat, Soup Bones, Tripe, Tilapia, Grouper, Golden Pampano, Mackerel, etc., etc.

A huge selection of dumplings, shomai, siopao, siobao, frozen turon, gyoza, soy sauce(light and dark) Annato(achote) seeds or powder and so much more! They even have what you need to make your own lumpia fresh if that's your preference. Fresh Veggies??? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! Bok Choy, Napa cabbage, Kang Kong, egg plants, and even fresh Thai Red Peppers, plus so much more.

Offer varieties of foods and snakes from Asian markets. You may not find everything for a very specific brand but I think you can always find an alternative here for your Asian cooking needs. Oh you need to do is ask the front desk. If you really looked for something special of which they don't carry in their store, ask them if they can order for you with a wholesale price. They would sometimes do so it's important to check with them before you get frustrated finding something. They have their inventory control pretty well. I don't find expire foods here yet. But please do mind that it could happen so please always check the expiration date on...

I recently made a trip to C'ville Oriental to see if they had ingredients to make hot and sour soup and was amazed by the large selection of products. I've been to two other oriental markets and they would always be missing more than a few items. After a while shopping, a really nice employee asked if I was finding everything ok and halped me find everything off my list. She even helped me find an item that many other markets hadn't even heard of. The service and care put into helping me find everything item was beyond amazing.
