Roots Rocks Reggae — Local services in Charlottesville

We went in to look at records and thrift antiques and there was a very nice well kept collection of shot glasses, pipes, clothing, and antique paraphernalia. We’ve also had great experiences previously with employees.

The reason for the 1 star review was the terrible experience with the employee working when we came in. We have never had issues in thrift stores or smoke shops before, and we’ve only had good experiences with employees, handling merchandise carefully and respectfully.

We came in talking to each other since we were having a fun time on the corner on a Saturday afternoon and were joking around, but we thought we were respectful since no one else was in the store and we weren’t shouting.

My friend went to look at a glass pipe that was sitting out and the employee immediately yelled at her about handling the “specimens” carefully. This is reasonable because of the price and fragility.

While we were looking at items we were yelled at for different reasoning, although reasonable. I didn’t realize I was leaning against a record box, so the employee yelled at me about it, also reasonable.

The worst part is that, although the employee was immediately annoyed at us, we were very interested in purchasing items. Even after all that, we ended up buying two items although we held off from buying anything expensive because of the negative experience with the employee.

He waited for us to purchase and then immediately told us off for talking in “his” store. Although some of our pop culture references were inappropriate, it is an adult store, literally a smoke paraphernalia shop.

I went in to look for some records because a friend of mine told me about this hidden gem. Amazing selection of reggae and hip-hop! I was surprised by the amount of soundtracks he had available! There’s a ton of other things in the shop too, including glass, rocks, and all kinds of goodies I will be...

Always been my favorite store ever since ive lived in charlottesville everyone is helpful and knowledgeable and i would prefer them over almost any shop i have been to. LOVE IT LOVE...
