I liked coming here to get drinks with my sister. They do make some delicious drinks. But not all drinks taste good. I felt like our drinks had a missing ingredient. Like moge usually has this signature good quality savory taste I can't explain. But recently I felt like the drinks were more plain and something was missing. While some drinks are delicious I wouldn't recommend the taro tofu pudding tea. It was terrible. It tastes like half and half and bean paste. The Rose drink tasted spoiled.
Reply to owner: I ordered the taro tofu pudding drink brulee and it tasted like half and half. Very bland. It has some bean paste on the walls of the cup. I used my straw to mix it in my drink. Something about it didn't taste good and it didn't smell right either. The bean paste smelled a little like BO. I couldn't finish the drink because of how bad it tasted.
I also ordered a rose hip tea with brulee and it tasted spoiled. I couldn't finish the drink.
I think overall they are forgetting an ingredient. Usually moge differs from other bobba teas since it has this signature savory good quality taste. I don't know what ingredient it is. But I think it's no longer being added...
Read moreThe food was good, but we had a very unfortunate interaction with the owner. I called to follow up on a business order made from UVA, which is a tax exempt organization. This is a relatively simple request that most local businesses handle without issue. The owner, Joy, had no idea what I was talking about. Totally fine, they’re a newer business. I tried to politely explain and offered to email her UVA’s tax exempt form to show her accountant, but she flat out refused to give me their business email address and was extremely rude and dismissive. It’s okay to not be familiar with a process, but more than anything, it was the way she spoke to and treated me.
Our students loved the donuts but sadly we are unable to do business with them in the future if they won’t comply with UVA’s tax exempt status. We have great relationships with many local businesses and prefer to work with those who value it. Life is hard enough, you don’t need a donut order making it...
Read moreMöge Tee has long been one of my favorite spots in Charlottesville. It’s definitely the best boba spot in town — the teas are delicious, the bubbles have the perfect consistency (both soft and chewy), the sugar level is spot on, and the use of fresh fruit is a huge plus. However, I have noticed that this past year the quality and consistency seem to have decreased a bit while the prices have increased: the fresh honeydew tea now tastes less of fruit and tea and more like ice, and the bubbles in the milk teas are sometimes sweetened, sometimes not. These are not big issues, but the details are important for overall quality and flavor; and it’s a shame since I used to be sure of getting an amazing drink every time, but now I’m only sure of getting one that’s pretty to very good. That being said, Möge is still my go-to, and I still would definitely recommend it to veteran boba lovers and those interested in trying boba for...
