Trinity On The Corner — Restaurant in Charlottesville

I am a nurse and honor graduate student at UVA obtaining my masters and still, I was publicly lynched here. I was accompanied by a friend and his buddy who was an off duty bartender. The place has multiple levels, but none of them are for people of color. After exchanging what I assumed was playful banter with a group of Caucasian women behind me I had two bouncers come to me and ask me to leave for “grabbing two white girls’ ass”.

Although the accusation was preposterous, there was no hope for resolution beyond me leaving for scaring the pretty white women sitting behind me. I was completely sober and cooperative, yet the manager would not come to speak with me. Extremely humiliating and sad for a business in 2022, but probably par for the course in good old Charlottesville.

Being a Chicago native, I had a chat with the two young black bouncers that were sent to remove me and reminded them who we were, where we’re from and where we’re welcomed. I can’t help but feel that if this was 70yrs ago I would be floating in the Tallahatchie river beside Emmit Till. Black men stay far away and instead enjoy a night out at The Biltmore or Rapture where you’re welcomed.

You have to be OUT OF YOUR MIND to believe that I made it this far in nursing or survived 30yrs in this country grabbing on young white women. This place is a culmination of the entitlement and dirty little secret of racist, bigoted Charlottesville....

Parent for summer orientation. Bored, went here for the billboard special "Chicken Caesar Wrap". Ordered the Blue Moon Belgium, got the stein for the cost of the mug. Big stein. With an orange slice.

Anyway, it was about 11:30 a.m., and the sidewalk diner area was calm. I was only one of a few customers. Waitress suggested the special which given that I had come in for that worked fine for me.

The waitress (always attentive and friendly) brought the order in about five minutes. It was served with nicely seasoned hot chicken, perfectly cut for the (nicely sized) wrap. And it came, unbeknownst to me, with french fries. These guys were freshly cut potatoes perfectly fried up and served.

I ate and enjoyed all but a few of the fries. Gave some to the sparrows which were fairly bold in their attempts to get a treat.

Reading a nice book, didn't want to leave so got another of those Blue Moons steins at the mug price. Smoked a cigarette.

Price for wrap and beer, 9.03. Second beer, another four dollars. Absolutely one of the best dining experiences and values I've...

these are high school dropouts or college kids thinking they are hot stuff. Worst customer service I have ever received. They have kids drinking back in the bar hope ABC gets on these guys quick. They let everyone under age in specially since they have a high school kid working in as a bouncer truly embarrassing. These guys are due for a huge law suit the way they feel welcome to treat guest and put their hands on them. They are also very racist this has to be the worst bar ever and specially un responsible by whoever runs it. Heard the owner and their managers always party together and don’t care about under age kids getting in and their customer service hiring kids with no experience truly sad and awful. Hope ABC gets on these guys horrible...
