If you come w Groupon, be warned!!
I went to divine nails bc I saw they had a great deal for a $22 pedicure on Groupon and I hadn’t treated myself in a while. I guess I should have been a bit more suspicious of such a stellar deal…
I arrived in downtown Chatham and when I walked in I felt rushed. Rushed to check in, rushed to sit in the chair, rushed to choose my colors.
Getting your nails done isn’t supposed to be an errand. It’s a luxury. It’s pampering. That means no rushing!
I chose a color for my toes and asked about getting a manicure too. The woman, we’ll call her- Mrs. Rusher- quickly agreed to give me both for $40.
I sat for the pedicure and the woman doing my feet was incredibly kind. We made small talk as she soaked and scrubbed my feet. Then she started using the pumice stone on my feet. Mrs Rusher ran over and yanked it out of her hand saying “this isn’t included in the pedicure!”. It was already loaded with product and being used to scrub my foot.
Rusher turned to me and said if I want the scrub it’s $5 more. And I thought about it, again she rushed me to decide and I declined. Rusher grabbed my heal and said “no, you really need it!”. Embarrassed and confused I succumbed to another charge. The kind lady doing my toes apologized on her behalf but it just didn’t feel right.
It didn’t end there. Immediately after the paint on my toes was applied, another guest came in and asked to sit in the chair I was in. I didn’t mind, but I wanted to let my toes dry for a few minutes, Mrs. Rusher demanded I come over to the manicure table.
Like a deer in headlights I obliged. Mrs. Rusher immediately grabbed my hands and started working on them. I nervously looked for the kind lady who did my toes. I asked if she could do my hands and Mrs. Rusher simply ignored me. I pointed out that my nails are not evenly shaped and still had jagged edges. She claimed “I’m not done yet”. I was waiting for her to trim my cuticles and clear the area around my nails. It never happened.
I tried making conversation with her, but her face remained in a scowl, as she continued to look at what EVERYONE ELSE was doing and not at the client she was working on! I wasn’t expecting anything much, but attention to the work in front of you is a bare minimum.
The cherry on top was when Rusher demanded I pay before she apply color. I wasn’t expecting anything furious by this point and extremely dissatisfied by the service. Even in paying I felt rushed. I will not be returning.
Of course the manicure I got is something I could have done...
Read moreI really wanted to give this place a good review because everyone was nice and the prices were good but oh well. It’s been exactly 14 days since I went to get my nails done there for the first time. It’s also my first time getting SNS. I was asked to make an appointment so I did and then I was called the day of to reschedule it because they had someone call out. Okay.... I needed them done ASAP but I compromised. They also made my original appointment for the wrong time. I go into my reschedule appointment and there was barely any wait time, so that’s a plus. 3 days later, one nail cracks. The next day it completely broke off along with my natural nail and part of my finger. Mind you, I do not do any heavy work or activity that would crack or break my nails. I call to let them know and tell them I am coming in to get it fixed and they make me get an appointment for FOUR hours later. I asked why, it’s it’s one nail and tells me again the scheduling was wrong and someone called out (okay.) I make the appointment and I get it fixed. All it well. I ask how long these are supposed to last and I was told two weeks, maybe three. Two days later another breaks clean off. I glue it back because I am done. Three days after that... Another painfully cracks. I apply glue over the crack to seal it but it still hurts. And now yesterday another cracked while I washed my HAIR. The materials are cheap and unfortunately I will not be returning. The employees are very nice but the quality is terrible. Such a shame.
On the plus side, my pedicure has lasted and no...
Read moreI'm not one to usually leave reviews, but my manicure looks so awful that I wouldn't want anyone else to waste their money here. It is hands down the worst manicure I have ever paid for.
Firstly, when I walked into the salon, I was treated like I was running late or a walk in, even though I was a few minutes early for my appointment. I wish I walked out right then.
Secondly, the salon doesn't have a good variety of regular nail polishes in colors or in brands.
Lastly, the end result was so sloppy, it's embarrassing. The polish was applied unevenly (on some nails, the polish is all over the cuticles and on other nails, you can see the first layer of polish wasn't applied properly and the second layer is an attempt to cover it up). Before I had time to ask for the nail tech to clean it up, she was on to the next customer.
I decided to give this salon a try because of the reviews on Yelp. After my experience with Divine, I'm confused as to how they have four...
