YesterToys — Local services in Chatham

The owner of this store really pissed me off. I just recently learned about this place so I looked at the store hours and location. Before I left the house I called the store and spoke to the owner. I explained that I live far and that I am interested in going to the store. I estimated to arrive around 5.00pm. He encouraged me to come [me and my wife] and that he remains open until 6.00 pm no problem. Well I arrived there approx 5.18 5.20 pm and the store was long closed. What total bs man! Made me waste my gd time. If you are just learning about this store and want to make a journey DO NOT DO IT! This store is only good for people just walking by that area already and will stop in solely on visual impulse - not for people looking to trekk out to reputable toy stores to add to their collections. It seems that the owner treats this store as such by closing when he pleases and not adhering to his publicly displayed hours nor updating his fb page with an "early closing" notice. Compared to all the other vintage toy stores I go to all over nj, this one is super tiny with very small inventory - I love going to all the nj toy stores regularly and acquiring lots of different collectibles from different franchises, but when something like this happens, I take this off my list and I suggest you proceed with...

I had nephews visiting from out-of-state when one became ill. I wanted to get him a little snuggle buddy to help him get through his bug, but it was a Sunday and not much is open in Chatham on a Sunday. I didn’t want to run to the mall (ideally shop local!) - fortunately, YesterToys saved the day!! I was able to get a nice plush Mario Bros. Goomba and a secondary option of a young Jedi creature in the event my other nephew caught what his brother had. A few hours later, my sister sent me a photo of my sweet little sick guy cuddled up with his new Goomba. So grateful these guys are mixing it up in Chatham and being open on Sunday. YesterToys is the best!!! The owners go above and beyond. I was looking for some hard to find toys as a Christmas present for my husband. Not only did the owner Randy give me his contact to follow up but he found the exact figures we wanted!! He and his wife are incredibly helpful and kind. When you visit a vintage and rare toy store these are the people you want to find working there and these are the people you want to support! I really love this store. They carry so many cool toys and you can tell they really love what they do. Very cool figures and they cater to niche fanbases. The nostalgia hits hard here and took me back to childhood.
