We went to Headspa’ce for a friend’s birthday. We each got the “All of It” and added the neck and shoulder massage and a blowout because we had dinner plans afterwards. It was our first time at the facility, and everyone was nice.
My friends were offered a beverage; I was not. Kennedy was my therapist and reviewed my scalp with me. Each of us had the scalp review prior to our treatment.
The All of It was an hour service where you receive several different treatments on your hair. I came in expecting more of a spa/scalp massage, and while there was some elements of that, it was no where near half of the time. It basically felt like my hair getting washed at a hair salon several times back-to-back. The neck and shoulder massage was a very light, little pressure for 5 min for $15 extra.
I was in a double room with my friend who was 3-4 minutes behind me so I sat there with nothing going on while she finished. And then, our consultants were gone. I never saw Kennedy again, and someone else performed the post-treatment analysis. She could not answer any questions as to what was used on our hair. So while the scalp looked cleaner, they could not articulate why.
They only had one stylist “allowed” to use a hair dryer, so the three of us had to wait one at a time for the blow dryer. They told us we were not allowed to use a hair dryer ourselves, and it was so slow that two of us had to leave in December with dripping wet hair. No towel was offered and they offered a “quick dry” but still full charge of a blow out or to remove the blow out all together. We chose the latter. Had our stylists stayed to fully complete their treatment or help with the blowout or offer a towel or anything, it would have felt like a better customer service experience perhaps?
Here’s what I wish I would’ve known before going: this was about $200 with a decent tip, which is more expensive than the average 90-minute full body massage that ultimately felt like I paid for someone to wash my hair seven times with a light neck and shoulder massage. It was overall a very disappointing, overpriced experience. I can’t say I’d recommend or found the value...
Read moreThis was a mediocre experience at best.
I did the All of It Service + Massage + Blowout.
I’m not sure why the lengthy pre-treatment forms were filled out. My stylist still asked all of the same questions (what to drink before, pressure, and I requested “zen earplugs” and silence per the form. Earplugs were never offered)
The pre-treatment look at your scalp was pretty cool, and I will say you can notably see a difference in flakes after. However, I’m a girly who washes her hair once a week and I went in on day 5 hair. So I’m not sure what we were looking at to begin with (dry shampoo?) and if it would’ve looked different had I washed my hair this morning. I digress. Cool none the less.
All of the steps listed online, the mask, comb, etc. were used. Nothing that felt mesmerizing or different.
The most enjoyable piece was the steam cap, and probably the only overall relaxing moment.
The added on neck and shoulder massage was anything but that. Online it lists for “15 minutes”. It was 5 minutes at most. Less time than it took her steamer to heat up. She spent her time working on my upper arms (because that’s neck and shoulders?) but you could tell it was a poor add-on choice.
The amount of pressure used during the whole treatment was dismal. The only tension relieving moment was having the water rang out of my hair.
I was then passed off for the blowout and style portion, which should have been deemed “let’s just dry your hair”. My hair was flatter than it’s ever been, frizzy, and no ample styling. So much so I felt I needed to put it up immediately when I left, go home, and redo my hair before dinner.
To top it all off at the register you’re met with a 3% fee to use a card. This is never stated prior. If it was I would’ve brought cash, but at that point what do you do.
This was such a let down and I wish I would’ve gotten myself anything but this for my birthday. I would not do this again. Highbrow/Headspace should stick to brows.

Read moreI’m sure this is a wonderful experience for some. I wound up paying for parking because the directions on how to validate parking are found inside the building after you park. No one greeted me when I came in and I awkwardly waited to be seen. My “technician”(?) did eventually come out but she didn’t give me much in the way of information. I constantly felt lost. They send questionnaires before you come asking a lot of questions and I did answer them all but they clearly didn’t read any of it. I stated in the paperwork that I wanted to be informed of what was happening and I asked many times for there to be NO MINT in the products used. At least half of what they used on my scalp was mint. I got the “everything and then some” package to pamper myself for Christmas after years of going without. It felt good, sure, but so does going to the salon and they don’t leave your hair dripping down your back. The “facial” and “massage” weren’t any better than I could have given to myself. It felt more like I was an inconvenience than that I was being pampered. The atmosphere is very dark and shabby. I think my “technician” was really sweet and well meaning but it just wasn’t a great experience. When I was paying and asking about the parking, the person at the desk scoffed and rolled her eyes at me. I PERSONALLY won’t be going back but perhaps, I had unreasonable expectations. Check it out for...
