I recently visited your store and felt compelled to share my honest impressions.
From the signage on the door to the behavior of the staff, the atmosphere felt more like a display of political self-righteousness than an inviting or respectful retail environment. The messaging at the entrance framed others as inherently bigoted and racial discrimative, setting a hostile tone before I even walked in.
Inside, the store was nearly empty, yet the staff ignored me entirely. One employee looked me up and down from the corner of her eyes without saying a word. Two others were engaged in loud, personal conversation, dressed so casually I couldnât tell they worked there. None of them greeted me or offered help.
Though I am a colored female, I don't think this was about race or identity It was about a general attitude of superiorityâa kind of moral elitism disguised as "progressive values" by woke progressive people. I've encountered similar vibes in another Talbot store that push the same kind of messaging: cold, unwelcoming, aggressive, and judgmental.
If this is what âinclusivityâ has come to meanâperformative, condescending, and dismissive of actual human decencyâitâs no surprise the store felt more like a clique than a business. This...
Read moreWe are from out of town. My wife has often purchased Talbertâs brand at other retail stores. She was very excited about shopping at a Talbertâs retail store. As she entered the store, which was not at all busy, not one of the sales ladies greeted her. Moments behind her a Caucasian woman entered and was given a hearty âGood Afternoonâ by the sales woman that my wife had just passed. She walked from end to end of the store looking at merchandise no salesperson greeted her or asked if she needed any assistance. She did not feel welcomed so she decided to leave. As she was leaving, she again was not acknowledged as were the Caucasian customers who had left. She felt unwelcome and thus she went to shop at Dillardâs, where she is always warmly greeted and served. She is a professional woman of color and a former military officer who has traveled abroad and lived in many states in the United States. We have never had to write such a...

I tried on a skirt that was so cute and so comfortable that it almost made me not feel so bad about being fat! I came away with some beautiful confidence building clothes. Thank...
