I wanted to update my review. Hana is a 5 star experience if you are lucky enough to have Fernando, Jose or Luis cooking for you. They are simply the best of all. However given the volume of people you simply cant get one of them each time. At lunch it is not that big of a deal because the price that you pay is a lot less than dinner. So getting one of the less experienced new chefs isnt that big of a hit. At dinner when you are paying 30+ dollars a person, and getting a chef that doesn't cook to the standards of the good chefs here is a disappointment to say the least. So I can understand the barrage of recent bad reviews. On the flip side of the coin, those would be 5 star reviews had they gotten one of the named chefs above. I used to eat here multiple times a month, and due to the above sadness I am down to once every 3-4 months. It will be a while before I am back, and will update the review when I go. _______________________________________________________________ As far as the servers go, they work hard and I can't remember the last time I had bad service here. They are great. We love Hana, and have been going since it was known as Kanpai. Most of the chefs have been there for many years, they cook great food and put on a great show as well. Don't be deterred by some of the nitpicky reviews. This is a great spot. Edited : Added the photo of the infamous Spongebob Square Rice compliments of Fernando.

So to start off this review, let's talk about the restaurant. Clean, friendly staff and covid19 standards observed. With our mains we got a simple soup that let's be honest wasn't worth the effort to dish up. A single slice of mushroom and a single slice of green onion. In warmed up chicken broth from a can.. A salad that by volume came to 2 oz. With 3 oz of dressing. So basically not meant to be eaten. So I shall call it decoration and a poor one at that. Here is hoping the main dish are finished at higher standards. Of course now going on 35 minutes and still haven't seen that yet.so now the show as our chef prepares our meal. A side from playing drums it was beyond dull. None of the performance that I have come to enjoy at other establishments. But again I am in Tennessee so this is often the case. So like the other Japanese grills they too use precut packaged vegetables. My shrimp was overcooked and rubberized previously frozen. The fillet mignon was cooked correctly as was the chicken. So is the better than sau Shogun's... technically yes. The performance, no. The staff, hands down better. So as a chef, I wouldn't completely say there is no hope here. But it isn't in my top 50 suggestions to others.

The experience and ambiance of this place were wonderful. The hibachi show was everything it should be, complete with an onion volcano. The staff was friendly, the cook was personable, and the restaurant itself is interesting. The food was beautifully presented. However, the taste was mediocre, especially considering the price. I didn't care for the salad dressing. It was mustard based and there was way too much of it. The soup was bland. The chicken was a little on the tough side and not very flavorful. I will say there was lots of it. In all, imthe meal was entertaining, but not delicious.

Hana Steak & Sushi is a great place to enjoy a quick and delicious and Japanese-style meal. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere and a wide variety of dishes to choose from, including sushi, sashimi, hibachi, and teppanyaki. The service is friendly and attentive, and the prices are very reasonable during lunch hours.

I recently visited Hana Steak & Sushi with coworkers and we all had a great time. We started our meal with the sushi, which was fresh and flavorful. For our entrees, we ordered the hibachi chicken and Yakiniku steak. Everything was cooked perfectly and was very filling.

After our meal, we enjoyed sitting in the bar area and chatting with the regular Wednesday customers. I would definitely recommend Hana Steak & Sushi to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable meal with a great atmosphere.

Here are some of the things that I loved about Hana Steak & Sushi:

Delicious food Friendly service Reasonable prices Casual atmosphere Great selection of sake If you're looking for a great place to enjoy a Japanese meal, I highly recommend Hana Steak & Sushi. You won't be disappointed!

Here are some specific details about my experience at Hana Steak & Sushi:

The sushi was fresh and flavorful. The hibachi chicken was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. The vegetables were also cooked perfectly and were very fresh. The Yakiniku steak was cooked perfectly and was very juicy. The onions and mushrooms were also cooked perfectly and were very flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and she made sure that we had a great experience. The prices were reasonable. We all had a delicious meal and we didn't feel like we were overcharged. Overall, I had a great experience at Hana Steak & Sushi. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and...

Edit: Decided to try this place again after five years. Got better service this time and the gyoza was good. Served with cold ponzu sauce though. They finally confirmed they do NOT have teriyaki sauce. 10/10 won’t be coming back. What kind of hibachi place cooks without teriyaki? lol Hibachi chef was very stagnant.

I was very excited to try Hana Steak & Sushi in Chattanooga, TN as my partner and I love hibachi and most Japanese entrees. The place is beautiful when you pull up. Whoever designed it put a lot of time and effort on the inside too. However... looks are just a thing. We went to place our order at the bar after not seeing our waitress when we'd been sat down. The male bartender was very aloof and distant. He was to preoccupied with watching basketball on television. The female bartender was all right but not very well educated on the menu. The soup came out and it was okay, but not great. We ordered steak and chicken. The fried rice with bland. The chicken and steak were all right. However when we asked for teriyaki sauce we were given something that looked more like ginger sauce. Reluctantly, we used it anyway. The sauce was a light brown with small clumps of something in it. Teriyaki sauce is usually dark and thick with a distinct flavor. Anyway, the sauce was cold on our hot meal. We could never get the attention of the bartenders enough to have it exchanged. We were the only ones sitting at the bar. The "teriyaki" sauce gave a bit more flavor to the rice to not make it as bland. However, I wouldn't go back to Hana Steak & Sushi. For the price you can go to other hibachi grills and get phenomenal food. I'm glad we had a coupon and didn't have to pay full price. It certainly wouldn't have...

Horrible experience. It's after holidays and it's going to be busy. That is fine I have nowhere to be... a little rude for the server to yell at the table "busy, be with yall when I can" as he jogs by to work in other areas. Oh well, I can shrug it off. We order sashimi as an APPETIZER. Two other groups at our table also ordered sushi. Salads/soups come and go. Cook comes and starts. The two other guests get their sushi appetizers, and the server says ours will be right out. Halfway through the meal we ask about our sashimi... be right out he says again. The last bits of cooked food are put on people's plates. We ask again for our sashimi (going to cancel order if it hasn't been started yet)... it's going to be right out! Server refills water and spills water all over fiance's phone. She gets a quick sorry as he walks out of the room. No clean up, no extra napkins... the server is handing out to go boxes and checks when our sashimi arrives. One server appologizes and says they'll speak to the manager. I'm irritated but figure he will comp the appetizer since it came out when the checks did... nope manager never comes out to say sorry or anything. Server comes out and says manager will only take half off if that's ok.... I did not know I had to haggle over prices of bad service. I have been going to kanpai (now hana) for 25 years. Kanpai was a family favorite and we were thrilled when they reopened as Hana, reviews claiming they were still the same. I am incredibly disappointed in tonight's service. (And the salad dressing was watered down) Sadly this will be...
