So, I rarely leave a poor review. This one isn't entirely poor. First: the menu is a bit confusing, at least to me. The name of the restaurant is Acropolis Mediterranean Grill. So I guess my mind went heavy into Greek slash more island or ocean fare than what I saw on the menu. The menu has the basic staples of countries that are in and around the Mediterranean; Italy and Greece mainly. The menu read kind of like an urban take on an Italian diner moreso than a Mediterranean Grill. That being said, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. So I tried to remain objective. Soup wasn't bad. It was your basic chicken soup. Tasty. They serve bread with cinnamon sugar butter. Butter, tasty also. Bread, one slice was underdone and the other slices were dry. Almost like loaf bread from a bag that was left out too long. The lasagna looks okay at first glance. But the longer one looks at it, it looks as though it was just tossed into a plate and warmed up quickly. On that note, our food came out in under 10 minutes. Back to the lasagna. The dish tasted fine at first..... but I had a moment a wave of that sickly sweet nausea passed over me. Thinking maybe I'm just having a mental moment, I pushed on. Just a different spin on lasagna maybe that I'm not used to. But...no.. happened again after the next two bites. I realized that something had turned in the dish. So, unfortunately, I was not able to finish it. Dernit. My wife ordered the Gyro Dinner. Her dish was as you'd expect: sliced meat with wedges of pita, sauce and veggies. Nothing really wrong with it. She said it tasted as she thought it would. She had a salad with the dinner, and the waiter asked her if the dressing he gave her was okay or if she wanted something else, unlike asking up front which is customary. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø I really wanted to like the place. It was clean. Service was fast. People were talkative. Huge cakes in the window case up front even. But, I don't think we will be going back.....

The flavor of the food tastes home-cooked. I had the Greek salad (which goes great with beer due to the dressing. However, the oil was a bit too thin to be olive oil), lemon soup (thick soup made with rice and chicken, not sure what they use to thicken it as it didn’t taste like flour but could be corn starch), stuffed grape leaves (those taste home-made versus coming out of a can), and tiramisu (tasted fresh, and with a perfectly balanced taste of coffee). What I enjoyed the most was the homey flavor. The dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) had a lot of meat with a slightly meaty flavor- which is a good thing. However, being a rice person, I found that they had little rice. The canned dolmas get skimped on meat. Quite noticeable even if I’m not a meat person. The salad and dressing were delicious. Rich in flavor. It made me get a beer to wash it down. You manly men…ask for a Greek salad and a beer to start the night. Ladies, the salad alone is filling. I couldn’t finish the soup, dolmas, or tiramisu. What I didn’t like was the quality of the grape leaves. Some of its vines are rather hard. I’ll have to make a few visits to try the lamb chops, the eggplant Napoleon, baklava cheesecake, spinach pastry, and fried cheese. I cannot rate the environment or anything else as the food was delivered.

I am visiting from Houston and this is hands down the absolute best Mediterranean food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. We have some wonderful food in Houston so it takes something amazing to top it. I ordered the Saganaki appetizer with bread- both delicious. OPAH! And one of their specials the pecan crusted North Carolina trout. Also amazing. Perfect topping of sweet tomato and bacon. Margarita on the rocks- perfect. And to go a slice of the spice cake. The wait staff was attentive, professional and pleasant. Two other waitresses checked on me each time they passed by even though the young man waiting on me was doing a great job. And the owner stopped by 3 times. I was pleased to see that she made sure every guest was taken care of. She even cleaned up a little drizzle that got on the floor. I’m sure her team respects that she doesn’t see anything as ā€œnot her jobā€. Can’t wait to bring my adult children here to eat when we visit again in a few months. Thank you for the experience.

Whuz happening guys ! If you are in the market for some Great Mediterranean Food this is your place. It is conviently located off interstate #75 North going into Hamilton Place Mall area. It's restaurants like Acropolis Grill that contributes to our Scenic City Popularity. Chattanooga is a Great Place to Stay, Play, and Eat. We certainly enjoy our different restaurants specializing, in their own delicious cuisine. It is certainly on display at this restaurant. It is upscale , with a casual atmosphere. However people still get dressed up, because of the environment. Speaking of dressing up omg ! Their food is dressed up to meet your expectations of a delicious variety of different Mediterranean šŸ˜‹ foods. They will certainly satisfy your appetite. I'm already hungry lets eat 😃. I highly recommend the Gyros, Pot Roast , um um good , and Lamb Chops. When is the last time you had some ? Have you ever had Lamb Chops ? I love Egg Plant omg ! I haven't had any in a while. Got to have some ! They have an extensive menu to choose from. Of course there are the delicious šŸø, and traditional drinks to wash down your food. You guys can also choose from some delicious American Cuisine if you are a traditional. Got it ? They got ya covered. Be sure to throw in Pan Signature Greek Salad šŸ„—. This will certainly make you feel right at home. When in doubt ask questions. No need ever be nervous about different cultures of foods. Their foods are cooked, and seasoned to perfection. The Professional, and Friendly staff will answer all of your questions. Most of you guys might be traditional. I say break traditional, and try something different it's variety. Mother’s Day; same thing every year, 5:00 PM is pick hour and they should have learned by now not to overbook, not to overwork staff, and make provision for last minute no-show employees. Poor management and poor time-management. A party of 6 with a 82 y.o. elderly and 2 children, waiting over an hour. Scorn is what I got when manger came to hear my complaint. Dinner was moved to 7:00 PM and the terrace reservation became a makeshift table in the middle of the place. Food finally came except for our elderly’s because they forgot to enter that order, thus we waited another 20/30 minutes. The bill was split into two parts of 3, however they automatically added a 18% gratuity on both, a service charge for big parties, though we received a disservice. Blatantly I stated to the manager ā€œthis is our last visit to this placeā€. And word of mouth is a double edged sword for this kind of business.

5/14 To the manager who replied to my review: you’ve certainly warped the whole situation; you smeared my character just to CYA. Facts: No matter who owns the business, it’s a utopia to believe you’re unmistakable. You need to mature and grow out of your entitled behavior. You’ve changed the story and embellished it to your advantage. Learn about businesses: when you are a manager, you are not invincible, rather EVERYTHING IS YOUR FAULT. You overbooked the place out of greed. Your staff was overworked and abused. If your employees call in sick the last minute, is not the customer’s fault. I never raised my voice; I’m sure you perceived it that way out of guilt. We waited 1.5 hours. You failed to grant our reservation outside; tried to sit us on barstools; next, you got a makeshift table from the storage room and placed it in the middle of the way where we were bumped out by every passerby. I requested extra lemon slices that never came. We did not have a party arrive 1.5 hours after; that’s your fabrication. That guest arrived with us and had to go out at a given moment due to health issues related to this dinner delayed issue. But our elderly guest, the first to place an order, didn’t get a plate when everyone else did. She had to wait 30 more minutes because your waiter forgot to add it. And you had the nerve to impose 18% gratuity to my bill for ā€œextra serviceā€! The place was a madhouse. 1st rule of business management: ā€œownership is the essence of...
