Mrs Nelson's Candy House — Local services in Chelmsford

Read an old newspaper article where the Rockefellers had once stopped their on the way up to their summer vacation home in Maine years ago and thought so highly of Mrs Nelso’s chocolates that they used Mrs Nelson’s candy for Christmas gifts! Figured if it was good enough for the Rockefeller’s it might be good enough for me?

Stopped one summer on my way from Florida to New Hampshire as the store is very close to intersection of I-495 and Mass Route 3. Fantastic, clean store, staffed by very nice people. Not only have I stopped there when driving to NH and from NH ever since for my Mrs Nelson fix, but my kids do as well when they are passing through the area.

To me, their fudge ( as well as their chocolates) are a helluva lot better than Kirwin’s which is the best candy Shoppe I have...

They have a nice selection of candys and such. Although after dealing with a very impolite staff (except the nice older woman who saw i was irritated and made small talk with me) after one woman split our line and standing in line for a about 10 min the woman that was at the register said i needed to go get in the back of the line. So we did, after finishing up and getting home we opened some of the candy we got. It was stale, all of it except the gummy bears. The malt balls are chewy and sticky instead of crunchy and melt in your mouth. The chocolate covered bunnys are sour.... so the marshmallow inside has clearly gone bad. I make my own candy around Christmas time and growing up in a shop similar to this, I am so dissapointed and will have to find another candy shop...

So absolutely great to find my favorite flavor- wintergreen- in the mints that are like the original "MerryMints"- for $9.99 a pound -this past weekend at this wonderful shop! We had driven to Chelmsford from southern NH for the wonderful Feng Shui restaurant just across the street, for lunch, and stopped in afterwards! They also had the chocolate covered wintergreen patties that are very hard to find, especially with not being able to find the Haviland brand of these anymore ...a great place- not my first time there, but will always plan on visiting this wonderful candy shop when I am...
