here it is another platoās closet in chesapeake who has a staff of people which are young in age walking around with mean looks on there face and acting is if nothing or no one matters meaning we as customers donāt matter unless we are coming to sale items at the counter every item in the store is over priced which is unfair i donāt understand why the items that are of nice quality are almost 20-25 dollars and then least liked items may go for a small price of 12 dollars or 15 at the most i canāt understand why they choose to keep all the items that is of nice quality on the shelves to hang when they should make prices affordable so that it can be sold or purchased by us the customer there slogan is we buy back you gently used items but how ever you bring nice items in with almost 3 bags full of clothes new or fairly new with tags name brand and in current style they take 3 bags of your nice clothes and offer you 20 dollars for 3bags of items you paid over 500 for but yet and still they give you 20-30 dollars for your sell but then let alone they take your items and sell them for 15 to 20 dollars a piece itās unfair how platoās closet treats there customers they even have a 60%~90%off sell and have a row rack of rags they know you wouldnāt want and place them next to all the nicer items you would want to buy ..in my opinion we the people need to stop selling to platoās closet because they are not fair in market value with your items to sell and as well as thereā items they try to sell to us these are my ratings 0 for performance 0 for customer service 0 for selling merchandise back to the public 0 for the slogan in all actual they use us to grow bigger and larger we would do better having or own garage sell and make a profit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust like any other Plato's Closet, the most you'll get for an item you're trying to sell is probably about $2 or $1.50 and under. I know they're trying to appeal to teenagers with the clothes they sell, but that doesn't mean all the teenagers have the raggity style of cheaply made Papaya or Forever 21 clothes. I think the staff there is only trained to look for items like these and honestly aren't aware of fashion in general (probably only aware of Chesapeake fashion, that is). If someone brings you a huge bag of clean, like-new condition of brands like J.Crew, Banana Republic and True Religion, why not take it? I had some jeans I tried to sell yesterday that I actually got from another Plato's Closet at a different location and ended up not wearing them (so obviously the condition was still good, since it was good enough for them to sell), and one of the staff at Greenbrier said in her list of reasons why they aren't taking my things that some items are "too sophisticated." Are you kidding me?? A classic, dark wash, straight leg or boot cut jean is too sophisticated for teens? Just take it and give me my $2. You know you're only going to sell it for $8 anyway. You think teenagers only want jegging and other cheap brands, but maybe if you offered NICER things and at a LOWER price, that's what would make Plato's Closet valuable. 14 year olds don't shop at J.Crew because it's too expensive, but hey, if I was in high school and I knew my local consignment shop had brands like that for under $10, I would shop there! Another pointless reason to shop at Plato's Closet is because there's no use spending $4-8 on a second-hand top from Forever 21 when I can buy the same thing new at the actual store for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was one of the worst experiences and I will NEVER do it again. Iād rather just donate. I havenāt ever gone into any Platoās or tried to sell but I had 2 pairs of name brand boots that I decided Iād sell. The process is horrific. It took an hour to āsortā my 2 items. Then when I finally get the text that itās ready I go back in and the girls, there were two looked at me like I was crazy, I was a little confused when they said ā go to the pick up lineā so I asked to confirm and they laughed at me. So now Iām uncomfortable and annoyed. I go over to where two people were being checked out and one finished a customer, made eye contact, turned away and pretend trained the other girl ⦠on scanning, completely ignoring me. By the time they both finally rung up the one lady it had been well over 10 minutes. So once again Iām looked at as if Iām an alien by the two ignorant children you have working there. So I had to ask could they help me, Iām very confused to what is so funny at this point. Then she giggles over to the bin, puts it on the counter and they both stare at the tag, laughing and acting as if Iām the rude one. Then I told them to hurry up because Iād been waiting an hour. She then says weāre taking 1 of your 2 for 12 dollars. I waited for 12 dollars, better than nothing but wow. The process and time it takes is not worth it. Iām surprised anyone even goes in there. The employees are something else, I have a teenage daughter that gives me enough attitude, I donāt need to be disrespected by the children that work at...
