I absolutely LOVE this place!!! I purchased an antique sterling silver labradorite ring that just called to me. Got the ring from another wonderful store but.....the ring was a Size 5 and barely fit on the tip of my pointer finger. I loved the ring so much that I purchased it anyway in the hopes of having it resized UP. I Googled "Silversmiths" and Tidewater Diamond popped up. I called and got Mike on the phone. Mike was super cheerful and very friendly. I felt at ease just talking to him, explaining what I needed. To my relief, they could resize my ring!! I drove over immediately and took over a couple of watches that also needed attention. The young woman who assisted me was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly (Mike was with another client). She resized both my watches (my wrists are small so she removed links out of the watches' bands and gave 1 a new battery). This was done in about 15 minutes. Yay!! Both my watches finally fit my wrist! Now, any little jeweler in the Mall can take links out of your watch and replace a battery. But....not everyone can ADD MORE STERLING SILVER to resize an antique ring!! OMG!! They estimated it would take about 7 to 10 days. Honey.....I got a call TWO DAYS LATER informing me that my baby was ready!! They sized my finger to ensure a perfect fit. We went up 4 sizes because of the finger I wanted to wear it on!! The ring was perfect!! They polished it and it looked even more expensive than it was!! I am soo happy and will be taking a couple more pieces to them. You cannot even see how the ring was enlarged!! As a life-long gemstone collector, I'm a huge fan of Tidewater Diamond & have been a loyal customer for several years. In February I took my Mother out to have a birthstone pendant made for my Sister. My Mom wanted to compare prices, so we went to a few other stores in the region, including a few of the well-known pawn-shops, but their prices were all consistently a minimum of a few hundred dollars higher than T.D. for the same/similar pendant. Needless to say, my Mom is also, now, a customer for life. She was so impressed with their work, & very pleased with their prices. Every time I come in, Barbara is so warm & welcoming that it's like meeting up with a good friend. Carl is so knowledgeable, patient, & talented; there's nothing he can't do, & I am always so pleased & impressed with his work. Ryan is fantastic; he can help you find whatever it is that you're looking for, & at better prices than anyone else around, (including the big-name pawn-shops), & he's much more friendly & accommodating than they'll ever be- ( & T.D. showroom is a much more upscale & enjoyable environment than you'll ever find in a pawn-shop, too). My Sister was thrilled with her birthstone necklace, & with my 30th wedding anniversary coming up next year, I'm sure my Husband & I will be back to have some special pieces made, as well. My fiancé took in a picture of a ring that I fell in love with online and Tidewater Diamond brought that image to life! The ring marries a diamond ring my grandmother left me and a new diamond my fiancé bought me for a twin styled engagement ring also commonly known as toi et moi. The staff are beyond friendly, and personable beyond that of just “trying to sell you something” they are genuinely kind and encouraging when trying to help you make the right choice when it comes to buying jewelry. They sized my finger before purchase , appraised my jewelry when I needed it and clean it whenever I stop by! I also bought my fiancé’s wedding band from here and each time I have gone in I have received the most respect and kindness , they really take their time, answer all your questions thoroughly, and strive to make the buying experience excellent which it is nothing less than phenomenal . I was able to finance the ring there and that process was super easy as well!
