More you read the worse it will get!!! 2 HOTEL STAFF AND SPOUSE CAME IN OUR ROOM AT 11pm 😳 We travel for work and before staying here, we checked the reviews. We also travel in groups. Mind you we have stayed in some not so great place but this has to be one of the worst. Not one time did we pay the same price per week (guess they pull numbers out of thin air) No where in the reviews did it anything about any roaches, much less an infestation. We stayed at this hotel for almost a month and didn’t go 24 hours without seeing cockroaches the whole time we stayed (willing to take lie detector). I even got to the point I quit wearing my glasses so I wouldn’t see them. We had to keep our toothbrushes in the refrigerator because the bathroom was sooo bad (showering with roaches). We were going to use the microwave but roaches were in it too. I can get past the razor blades between the cabinets and walls and even doors that don’t work but not everyday roaches (and I can only clean so much if the next room is dirty, it’s hopeless) I was yelled at for using a rock to keep the ONLY LOCKED DOOR open by management so we wouldn’t have to walk around to the front to get back inside. Mind you all other doors were broken and DO NOT lock. The only one that locked could only be open from the inside (key cards didn’t work). After almost a week of everyone using a rocks to get back inside hotel, there was even a sign posted on the door. The sign said that if we used a rock, we would be fined $250 and/or kicked out. Funny how same management woman told us MANY times after that we COULD use the rock, it’s fine 🤷🏻♀️ Seemed like a setup to get more $$$. BUT the worst is that I went down, on Sunday (10-29-23), to check when we needed to pay again. I was told, “Wednesday” (11-1-23) There would be video of this (please check it) Now Tuesday was Halloween. So when I was woke from my sleep because there was a knock at our door at 9:44pm, I thought it could be people wanting to see us to maybe kids playing around. We sleep nude and I won’t about to get up at that hour. I fell back asleep, ONLY to have the phone wake me up (9:55pm). I am handicap and by the time I got to the phone, nothing on the other end. Hung up and I went back to bed. Imagine my surprise when I hear my door OPEN around 11pm and people coming in. I threw my pillow over my chest and sat up grabbing for my clothes. After a few seconds I heard the door close. I am half awake by time I make it to the door that they started beating on. Yes I said THEY. There was the manager woman and the man I spoke to on Sunday AND some big man who I didn’t know (found out the next morning it was the woman’s husband and he DOES NOT work at the hotel)… I felt extremely threatened and they were trying to intimidate me, cause why would you need three people to come to someone’s room at 11 at night unless it’s some form of shakedown??? Opening the door I was yelled at. “You were suppose to pay for the room by 11 this morning “. I turned to the man I spoke with Sunday. He looked as if I was lying (again PLEASE pull the video where that man said, “Wednesday”) and he said nothing. Half being awake I told them I would come up in a minute (because I needed to finish putting clothes on) I went up front and tried to explain that I came up on Sunday and I’m clueless on what’s happening… I looked to the staff man I spoke with Sunday for anything but he just stood there (please check video!!!) I was not thinking clearly because of taking new sleep stuff (hubby was out cold from same sleep stuff) Plus I am feeling bullied by these 3 people now. So I just paid them, imagine my surprise when I noticed I had to pay late fees… and my next pay date is the 11-2-23 (but if I’m paying on Oct 31 the math don’t math) I have the receipt… if we were late, it was the hotels fault and we should not be penalized for their mistake… I asked for and was refused an apology from everyone that came to our room that night. I’m telling you this hotel looks for ways to take your money… and it seems they do shady...
Read moreMy three children and I stayed here for a week in August. Based on all the reviews, this was a reasonable and affordable place to stay while we visited our friends. During our very first night, I knew it was going to be a rough stay.
First of all, the pros. The staff is very nice and accommodating, and friendly.
Now to the cons. And there are a lot of them. First off... the walls are so paper thin, you can hear every single word your neighbors are saying. We had a double bed room on the first floor and you could hear the elevator every time it went up and down. You could hear everything our extremely loud neighbors were saying.
The office doesn't open until 10am, and closes at 10pm except for weekends, and the times they decide to close early. Trying to find a staff member to speak to during times we were actually in the hotel was difficult. Our neighbors arrived back nightly around 11, partied until 1 or 2 in the morning, with their children screaming, the tv blaring and their loud conversations waking up everyone in our room.
Not even the air conditioner could drown them out because it was constantly on and then off. On off. It would not stay consistently on.
I asked to be changed, no extra rooms.
Two beds... four people... two towels.
Take our your own trash to the dumpster.
Don't go outside late at night because there are men loitering in the parking lot at all hours of the night. For a woman traveling by herself with young children, this is of great concern.
There was an ant superhighway going through my room. I took pictures. No one seemed to concerned. We had to wear shoes because they bit. There were also roaches on the counter. I got up in the middle of the night for a drink, flipped on the light, and six roaches scrammed for the burners in the stove. I only managed to get one of the buggers.
I was able to go to walmart and buy a complete set of dishes AND a coffee pot for a third of the cost they were selling them. You'd think, for an extended stay hotel with kitchenettes, they would supply dishes to cook with, which brings me to another point. Whatever your neighbors are having for dinner, you are having, too, because the smell will permeate everything in your room. Although we didn't eat there, our room smelled of raman and curry every night when we returned.
We did not have maid service or towel service, yet we were charged for it. They also tried to charge me a hundred dollars more than what I was quoted when I booked. Its a good thing I brought my original conformation paperwork with me.
The beds. I have never slept on a mattress so hard and uncomfortable that I actually hurt waking up in the morning. I looked forward to getting out of the bed.
Over all, I am so glad I brought extra pillows, towels, and everything else I thought I might need during our week here. I will not ever ever be returning to this place. I will gladly pay the extra cost for a "real" hotel, with room cleaning, fresh (and enough) towels for everyone, and the feeling of security and that I'm not alone. Not having someone at a desk of help is needed is really...
Read moreThe fact that this has a rating of anything more than 1 stars makes me think the majority of people who stay here are either homeless (in which case, yes, this place is a 5 star resort), or otherwise of extremely low standards and are very easy to impress. Not that I'm an overly picky person or hard to please, but this place was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
I made my reservation at another woodspring suites in the same area. The day of our stay, a few hours before we were leaving on our trip, I got a phone call requesting if we could do them a favor and stay at a different branch (this one in particular) - it was only a few miles away and was actually a little cheaper. I quickly looked it up on trip advisor and saw that it was actually rated higher than the one we were staying at, so I agreed to the switch. They told me they would send over our info to the new branch.
We arrived at 2am. Check in was easy and fast. When we got off the elevator, we were greeted by the smell of stale cigarette smoke. When we got to our room, the smell was stronger, and there were cigarette burns on the toilet seat (at first we thought it was feces, but were relieved to realize it was just burned). I went downstairs and requested a non-smoking room. I was told the only non-smoking rooms were an upgrade and would cost more. I reminded them I had 'done them a favor' by coming to this branch instead of my original reservation. The girl who checked me in had no info to prove that - she had my reservation info to check in, but no evidence that I had been reserved at their other branch. I told her to go ahead and 'upgrade me' and charge whatever the difference was, but that I was going to complain to management when I got back from my trip. Suddenly, she was able to change my reservation to this 'upgrade' for no extra charge.
When we got to our new room, it didn't smell of cigarette smoke, but it smelled really bad. Not sure of what. It was the most depressing, bleakest room I've ever been in - I think jail cells have more character. The formica sink base panels were separating from themselves, the bed mattress was like something out of the 1970s, and the carpet just looked dirty and old. I just felt dirty just being in that room. We basically slept a few hours and then got out of there (I didn't even shower, I wanted to get out of there so badly). If I didn't contract bed bugs or any other diseases, I'll be thrilled. Next time, I'd rather sleep in my car. Stay here only if you are...
