Went here the day after Valentine's Day and there was 50% off candy. There was some confusion regarding the price tag and the discount on one particular brand. The store manager, Hector, told me that since it was confusing, as a courtesy, he would give it to me at another 50% off which was very nice. He called up to the checkout line and told the cashiers that a customer was coming to check out and to give her the bag of candy at another 50% off. I went to check out and Adriana told me that she knew about the 50% off. However, when she went to ring up my items, she stated that the candy was already at 50% off. II told her I know but Hector said to take another 50% off. She said that she wasn't going to do it even if the store manager told her to. I went and found Hector and HE HAD to come up to the register and ring me out. She just stood and looked with attitude. He told me that he was going to talk with her.
I am wary of that given the fact that this kid could tell her manager what she wasn't going to do and still keep a job. I know for the rest of us, if I was to tell my boss what I wasn't going to do even after I was told to do something, especially when dealing with a client, I would be unemployed IMMEDIATELY. The fact that Adriana could do this and then STAND RIGHT NEXT TO HIM while he is ringing up my items makes me wonder about an authority problem at this location. I called Target and was told that a district manager was going to handle it. But again, I have had bad customer service like this before and was told that a district manager would handle it and never did. Then folks wonder why their stores are closing in downtown Chicago left and right. Bad...
Read moreIt's Target, but shrunken in size!! I'm not sure if it's their chosen nomenclature, but this is a Target Express. It's as if they've miniaturized a normal Target. They have every department represented with a smaller selection from each. They don't stock larger items, such as appliances and furniture. The selection seems to be that of the most popular items purchased in larger stores. I'm not sure of the exact specifications, but it feels about a tenth of the size of a normal Target. I like this concept and wish they would open more around the city. You don't have to go far, in any direction to find a full sized Target, but it would be nice if there were a bunch of these mini versions in between for quick shopping visits without having to deal with the crowds typically found in full-sized locations. My only criticism, not backed by factual comparison, is that I believe some of the items are slightly higher priced compared to the same products offered in full-sized locations. I guess, I understand this tactic, but come on Target. There's no need to nickel and dime your customers. You have all of Chicagoland on lock-down, especially considering the most recent retreat of many Walmart locations. Pay a little more attention to your customer loyalty and don't take advantage by increasing your prices. That being said, I'll continue to shop at your mini-store. I appreciate its...
Read morei like this target because it has a lot for the space that they have. i live nearby so it's great for quick trips, of those items you forgot to grab at the grocery store. unfortunately, the staff is less then helpful. i have been there when employees were doing other tasks, and couldn't manage to navigate my cart around their mess off dolly's and carts. i have walked into this target and an employee was moving a bunch of crates on a flatbed. she was also having a conversation with another employee. well i had to wait for them to finish, just so she would start working again, so that i could actually enter the store.. the same employee was stocking in the dairy isle. i was trying everything i could think of to get a carton of eggs that were waaaay back in the fridge. i know she noticed me struggling, but never offered help, and avoided eye contact. i said, "excuse me". she ignored me. i had to say it 4 more times until i was yelling as loud as i could, for help! here at this target.... the customer does...
