ERNESTO - the manager was very rude and disrespectful. The server/person taking the order asked for my order three times and looked very confused. I thought maybe he was still new. So I respectfully and patiently repeated my order: one carnitas taco, beans, chips, and guacamole. He kept asking me over and over and kept looking down. Then Ernesto, the manager had to ask me the 4th time. It was at night - I was tired and hungry and so I asked why I had to repeat my order again. The manager got angry at me and threatened with his voice saying "DO YOU WANT YOUR ORDER OR NOT?" I was shamed and because I was hungry I had to participate and repeat my order: one carnitas taco, beans, chips and guacamole. I had asked that the manager should consider to be nicer and understanding only because I had already told the server three times about my order. AND that I was actually nice to the guy when I repeated my order 3x. Manager Ernesto then told me that the cashier/server did not speak English. However, I was trying to say that the food server who interacts directly with the customers should be able to communicate, understand and take basic orders in English because not everybody can speak Spanish. Then the manager lashed out and called me RACIST! Yelling and told me to "Get out of my store!" The food was already at the register. I challenged him if that is how customers should be treated (especially that it was my first time to buy there and I was actually excited to eat there!). But Ernesto the manager was convinced that I was a racist. All I am trying to say is that if a FOOD server is directly interacting with customers in California, then they should at least know basic communication like the basic names of food items written on the menu like CHIPS, TACO, CARNITAS, GUACAMOLE, BEANS. Isn't that fair business for customers who do not speak conversational Spanish? By the way I can speak Spanish with my patients and I take care of patients who speak Spanish and I bath, dress and toilet and rehabilitate them in hospitals. I evaluate them in the best way I can in the basic Spanish that I know. So before you judge me for being racist, check your own qualifications for hiring who you should place in the server area. If you want to put up a sign in your store for "SPANISH SPEAKING CUSTOMERS ONLY" then I'm okay with it. But for you to tell me in my face that I need to learn your language to buy food at your store is out of line! Because, customers have food allergies, likes and dislikes and communication is key in safety in the food business. ERNESTO the manager - you should also re-evaluate basic customer service, etiquette, respect and value your first time customers because you already lost me on my first attempt when I was actually excited to try your food. IT WAS YOUR ATTITUDE THAT LOST A CUSTOMER. NOT YOUR SERVER who did not speak English. He was actually nice. And if you were nice about it, I could have spoken to him in Spanish and could have shown him more compassion. But you were so RUDE about everything! TAQUERIA DE ANDA LOST BUSINESS BECAUSE OF YOU ERNESTO. You should not be a manager! And get this. After ERNESTO called me a racist and wanted me to get out of the store, he had the BALLS to ask me if I was going to pay for the food??? Of course not! I had to walk out. It was not worth the INSULT and the experience. TAQUERIA DE ANDA should not be keeping...
Read moreMy husband and I went for some tacos on the second day of the opening, those were very delicious, we order tacos of birria/barbacoa, lengua, carnitas, chorizo and al pastor. We miss so much the traditional flavor from Mexico, and we founded this restaurant also with great customer service, super clean, and great quality of the food. Just for me the tacos al pastor taste different from the flavor that I'm used to had in Chihuahua, Mexico those are like with the adobo of the cochinita pibil and also with pineapple, but in here the other are more than excellent for us. Then we came back on a weekend and we order 2 burritos, 1 of chorizo breakfast and 1 of carnitas just meat, those were amazing, sorry we were very hungry and I couldn't stop to take a picture, lol. Keep going with the great care and quality of the food, service, and cleanliness, don't fall like...
Read moreGood portion sizes. Their burritos and quesadillas are good. Love the rice and beans here. They taste really delicious. They are sweet enough to accommodate your request to customize your meal to meet any dietary restrictions. I was able to customize my quesadilla to include bean and cheese instead of just cheese that is pretty much the only option if you are a vegetarian at most Mexican restaurants. They have a nice small salsa bar which is a huge plus! Not many restaurants have this option these days. However would love to see more flavor in the salsa, they can get bland. Also may be a new flavor of salsa (spicer the better - maybe habanero?). Dining area could use some help. Could be maintained better - visited enough to be able to observe...
