After many years of going to Belanova, today will be my last time. I have had issues with Elena rushing through hair cuts in the past, causing me to have to return a few days later for her to "fix" it, but I was willing to overlook it because the overall cut was good and the experience was generally pleasant. She would often jump from one customer to another leaving some waiting in the chairs, but I thought no big deal, she's running a business. Today was too much though. I arrived five minutes early for my appointment and was taken back for the shampoo by a girl I had never seen before. She was incredibly slow to wash and condition my hair (it took about 10 minutes, causing me to have horrible neck pain by the end) mostly due to her being distracted chatting with a coworker about how the tips were going to be split up at the end of the shift. She was also the one to blow dry my hair as Elena was working with another customer. I do have long hair, but the girl was so slow that between the shampoo and blow dry, I had been there 40 minutes before Elena finally took over and finished drying it. As they were passing off the hair dryer the girl said to Elena, "she has a lot of build up on her hair." Elena said, "She always does." A little rude, but whatever. She proceeded to tell me that I need to change products because my hair has so much build up. I asked her what she suggested and told her I was not willing to pay $40 a bottle for shampoo. Here's where my patience ended. Her response to me was, "Well then you'll always have bad hair." Let me be clear...I have gorgeous hair. Every time I'm in that salon Elena and others comment on how thick and pretty it is. I understand that she really wanted to sell me some of her products today, but that is NOT the way to make a sale. The nail in the coffin was when I paid the bill at the end. $80 for a haircut. Maybe she charges extra for the insults. I would not recommend going to Belanova unless you have a LOT of money to spend and you are willing to be a...
Read moreBEWARE! There are PLENTY of 1 star reviews with a very similar experience to mine. PLEASE read them before going here and getting charged over $350 to leave feeling ashamed of yourself!
I was severely overcharged by this salon. I made an appointment for a color and cut and my bill came out to over $350 by the time I left, I was bamboozled and taken advantage of badly. My hair came out looking worse than before I went in and I was rushed out the door because they knew they messed up. I disputed this crazy amount with my credit card company, and it turns out I was charged extras like: $40 for "toner" - which was only used because the stylist, Elizabeth, doesn't know how to lighten hair! Then, charged an extra $60 for a retouch.....retouch of what? I have been to many salons, the best, in our area and this salon is all fluff and no talent.
They don't have multiple 1 star reviews for nothing, let me tell you. It is my advice to do your research before you get slammed hard by Belanova Salon. Oh, and not to mentioned, they use Wella color - which you can buy at Sallys and do a better...
Read moreSo I was reading through review & I saw a review about Covid, first and foremost my hair is amazing. Secondly a review should be given based on multiple aspects not just environment, now to address the previous review regarding Covid, the surplus of Covid protocol was refreshing. The sanitation between clients. Salon was not too crowded. “Note the sign on the door” Liz actually did my hair & did have a mask. (Ps: She’s an amazing Stylest who listens to your wants and executes it perfectly) I didn’t notice any young or old clients walking around with out masks on. Those that where conversing did have masks on as well, so not sure what she saw, also I would like to point out that while the virus is transferred through nose & mouth ie respiratory droplets, not sure why she thinks we can get it through our eyes, lol I mean if that was the case should we start walking around with goggles ? Sorry just want to help clarify for those that are worried, you are save at Belanova! Businesses are struggling to stay alive & reviews do influence customers. Therefore I will be returning...
