AVOID MONICA JONES! (So why 3 stars instead of 1? Let me tell you)

My husband set up a day for me to get my hair done for my Birthday. He booked the appointment online over a week prior. I show up 15 mins early for my 10am appointment. I can't find Monica and no one is in the loft she's assigned to. Crystal, another loft owner asks me who I'm here for. When she heard Monica her response with frustration was that Monica doesn't work on Saturdays and she was suppose to call me to cancel the appointment. I guess this was discussed on the Wednesday before? Yup, not one call or text the whole week the appointment was booked. Crystal immediately takes action ( Thank you Crystal!) She contacts the owner who I guess contacts Monica? Crystal also called in Bee Lewis, another stylist in the Lofts. Bee, being such a sweetheart, came in to fix the mess Monica made and did my cut and color.

Remember my appointment was at 10am? At 11:15am I get a text from Monica stating "that she's sorry, she didn't want me to think she just didn't show bc she wouldn't do that and that she text the number that the appointment was booked with to go to Carrolwood instead of Westchase." I guess she got my phone number from the owner?

Monica, it's not your fault the appointment was booked with my husband's number, yes, you did text the number. BUT you knew about the appointment WELL in advance, you were heard talking about needing to CANCEL the appointment days prior, and you didn't say anything to me about it until 9:20am the morning of the appointment. 40mins prior to the appointment time when you knew about this for a week! Would I have gone to Carolwood instead had I known days prior? Yeah, I would have.

Instead, Bee came in when she didn't have to (Thank you Bee!). Crystal was willing to squeeze me in between her clients. And you? A free product for MY inconvenience? No thank you. You should probably talk to Bee instead.

Also, this isn't Monica's first time doing this. Apparently, according to the ladies at Salon Lofts, this has been a regular occurrence with Monica and NO ONE was shocked when they found out it happened again.

Salon was nice and I like the concept but that's it. I booked an appointment for my daughter with Lester. He had great reviews and lots of experience. We had just moved from Lakeland and I thought this would be a good fit for a new stylist. Sadly, I was wrong. We showed him the pictures of the style she wanted and discussed with him and because she had long hair and was going short he asked if she wanted to donate it. I explained what that would mean and she said yes. He got everything ready to start and then just cutoff her hair so it couldn't be donated. And he butchered the haircut. The cut was uneven and he styled it like a bob. Didn't consult with her the whole time about how it was looking or anything. She was so disappointed that before we even got out of the building I told her she could wash her hair at home and see how it dried naturally. That was no help and actually made it more apparent of the poor job that was done. We ended up driving back to her old stylist in Lakeland and getting it fixed. No child wants to start a new school year with a jacked up haircut, especially when going into high school. If you can't do a particular style be honest and tell your client. Our stylist was so talented and very cool! Sheila is great with hair! We came in with pics and ideas for the wedding and she made all of us bridesmaids and the bride look beautiful.
