Frustrating experience. Thought I would save time by seeing Beacon via ebike, instead wasted almost an hour of time I would have rather spent at Dia Beacon. Online ordering didn’t display accurate inventory so I called the number on the sign outside the train station and ordered a rental. The sign says they’ll bring the rental to you within 15 min. After almost a half hour with no bike I called to check and they said they weren’t sure whether I was picking the bike up or having it delivered - don’t get why they didn’t call to check or clarify during the original phone order. The guy who answered said they could bring one in less than 10 min, and I said that works. 5 min later the girl I ordered from originally called to say they could bring one in 10-15 min. They didn’t have an answer as to why it wasn’t already dispatched. I was running low on time even before Pedego started wasting it so I had to cancel. Then they for some reason tried to blame me. I followed the directions on the sign.
RESPONSE to OWNER: Don't put out a sign at the train station and then be surprised when people use it. I followed the instructions on the sign. Feel free to add more. That’s on you, not me. Disappointed you seem to be getting defensive and implying it’s my fault and I’m being dishonest. This is YOUR business. Take responsibility for it. Again not my fault that online it showed no e-bike availability and only regular bike availability. I called the number on the sign when I had an issue, per the sign. If you want more info, ask for it. You know your business and how it works better than me. Don’t expect me to know. Set everyone up...
Read moreI have had a few minor interactions, all positive. Over the summer I was planning a trip to NYC and was thinking of renting ebikes for this. Even though this isn't a usual thing they provide, they were willing to make exceptions for me. Very friendly and eager to help.
Over the summer I ran into the owner on bikes. He asked what I thought of my (not a pedego) bike. Again, very nice and easy-going. I asked if they service bikes other than pedego, he said yes.
Last week I was having a small problem who's repair was eluding me. They said they could do the job, but not to expect it to be completed on the same day, a Sunday. I agreed that would be fine. Dropped off the bike and got a call back within 2 hours saying it was ready.
They also cleaned the bike. It looks beautiful. They found I needed new pads and took care of that at a more than reasonable cost. They are also going to be adding new ebike brands! Good for them growing that business.
I have found my...
Read moreWhat a next level customer service experience this was. I went to Pedego Beacon today to get my brakes tightened on my electric bike, and Kyle met me right outside, and was super attentive and kind. He let me know that my bike is actually Pedego's biggest competitor, but was all about opening up service to the whole biking community. He then asked if I wanted to test ride a Pedego while my bike was getting fixed. Do I?! What a treat, 5 levels of assist and the shocks definitely give Pedego an edge! If we get a second e-bike I'll strongly be considering a Pedego, and I'll definitely be going back to Kyle's shop for all my bike maintenance needs. Allison and the other staff were super helpful, professional, and the work was done lightning fast! I was back on the road with perfectly tightened brakes AND a joy test drive in less than 20 minutes. Can't recommend this place...
